Default About using CraigsList for CPA...

I really want to get into CPA, but I don't want to fail at Adwords. I will do Adwords later on, but I don't have the money at the moment, and can't afford to lose.

I've been reading a lot about CPA, but I'm still not sure what the CPA companies really want or hate.

I've been reading that it's ok to use CL, and I've read that they don't like CL. I've been reading that they just specifically want PPC.

So, lets say I do some CPA offers, in the email submit/zip submit, will the CPA companies not pay up since I'm using CL?

Also, how can I avoid having my ads taken down from my CL posts?

Thanks for clearing up this situation.

Play by the rules. If the offer is OK on CL then use it. If prohibited on CL, then find another offer that permits it.

They will check your traffic sources to the best of their ability. So play by their rules and sleep well at night.

Regards,

John

It all depends on the network, the offer, and your affiliate manager. In general, I have found most networks do not like craigslist traffic and WILL NOT PAY if they find you are getting craigslist traffic.

A lot of people do get traffic from craigslist but hide that the traffic came from CL and do well until they are eventually caught. I have found some affiliate managers dont mind it for certain offers if they are converting at their end. Many people direct cl traffic to a whitehat legit web site and go about it that way.

Just check your network and make sure it's allowed. Some DON'T allow it and others don't specify, so it might be okay, but you should always double check.

The bottom line is that if your leads are converting no matter where your traffic is from for the advertiser and you're playing by the rules, it's fair game.

You would in most cases not want to direct traffic straight from CL to your
CPA offer. Many advertisers and networks do not like it, especially when you
are using it in a misleading manner as many suggest.

As far as getting your ads to stick, Craigslist allows the
community to flag ads that they deem spam or other BS.
Many if not most of the ads you would place on CL to promote
CPA offers will fall into that category. Especially if you are
copying a method that is being promoted...as opposed to something
you come up with on your own...you will have many
people using it, and the CL community will start recognizing and
doing their flagging thing right away.

Seriously, CL has many people who seem to live for flagging ads.
They are not a commercial enterprise friendly bunch. The less commercial,
more genuine your ads appear, the better chance you will have for
your ads to stick.

Personally, I am not a big fan of Craigslist, and any time I have attempted to
use it, have generally found it more trouble than the time and profits (if any) warrant.
But many claim to make substantial profits. so maybe its just me.

Using CL is considered blackhat because the people are misleaded to fill the offers. You will get banned if the network finds out your leads are coming fom CL.Alot of people are hiding their traffic when using CL.Instead of CL,why not do social bookmarking and write articles then submit them to articl directories. They are free methods as well and does not cost a dime just your time.

From my experience, you are at the whim of the Craigs list moderators.

That being said, here's a tip, use the "double click" formula for higher conversion:

CL ad to (first click)... Blog to (Second Click)... CPA offer.

It doesn't look as spammie.

Here is another tip, use a real email address for your accounts. This seems to have worked for me.

Thanks

You can make it a lot further by adding a step between the ad and CL. You'll get blacklisted by CL in a matter of minutes just posting ads up.

Not sure if someone has heard of lead portal that claims to send ton of emails to CraigsList users to market what ever CPA offer you have- it sounded extremly spammy, not sure if someone has tried this and been successful.

The best way to approach this is going to be responding to the demand! responding to the CL people. I have not tried this approach yet. I am currently doing the Posting and responding to people thing

Excellent concept that I have not seen too many people discuss...
and certainly one that protects you from trouble with the networks.

You just inspired a couple of ideas for me. (I'm personally still not a fan
of CL, just from point of view of the logistics that go into posting multiple ads,
but the same concepts can be applied in other places.)

Thanks,

Robyn
