Okay, this question is for those of you who use PPC> landing page>Offer.. I sent 150 visitors to my landing page in the last day or so through adwords, and I checked my stats at the affiliate network I'm using and I supposedly only have 16 clicks. But I've got 4 sales so it's all good, but I'm just wondering if it's normal to only have a 10% CTR from my landing page. Especially with the way the landing page is set up. It'd be hard for them not to click on the ad. There's a text link, and right under it a 468x60 banner. I just thought that was unusual.. Any comments? |

You should have at least a 33% click through rate, I'm guessing that you're landing page isn't too hot. These days people are very blind to banners/text links and you need to practically shove it in their face so they see it. Make sure you hyperlink every keyword, so if the offer was an email submit for an iphone every time you used the word "iphone" it would have a hyperlink with your affiliate link in it.

There are many factors that go into click through rate. You will get the highest rates when everything is congruent starting with keywords then ad copy and finally the landing page. Sometimes you can have great clickthroughs on your ad, because your ad is written in way that gets people to click, but if your landing page does not follow through directly and provide exactly what people are expecting, you will not have as good a clickthrough to your offer. As a very general exagerated example: If your ad says Free Ringtones For Life On Any Network you would get very high clickthroughs on your ad... If they get to landing page and learn that the Ringtones are only Free with a subscription... Many of the people who clicked the ad will not follow through and click on offer as it is not what they expected from ad. There are so many factors that can affect your numbers, it is hard to speculate without looking at every aspect of your campaign. Only way to find what works best is to test and track everything. Sounds like you may need to tweak your landing page a little bit

Thanks everyone. I may also have had trouble with my hosting provider.. it was free so I guess you get what you pay for. I was getting errors every so often when I tried to go to my landing page, even on other desktops. So I bought a hosting package new domain and redid my landing page with hyperlinked keywords and such... It's funny though because even if lots of the visitors got errors, the people who got through gave me an ROI of 300%! Thanks again.. |

Have you tried direct linking? You might want to run that as a campaign as well as the landing page and see which one converts better
