Feebay finally killed its affiliate program.

ePN's clairification that affiliates will NOT be able to post links on their Wordpress.com blogs after August 1st. seems to have a lot of people wondering what to do. I didn't realize so many affiliates used membership sites like wordpress.com. My "shrink" wife pointed out to me last night that most of these people probably have no clue how to setup a hosting account and do everything necessary to download and install Wordpress. Plus they're worried that they may lose all the time and effort they have already put into their wordpress.com blog.

I wrote an article for these people and posted it on the ePN forum this morning.

LOL! The banning already started! NO warning, NO mercy! What a joke that EPN is! And it appears the biggest EPN cheerleader of them all "DVD2" has been banned too. LOL! He is 2 quiet when Ebay needs him most!

I think ePN is taking things to a bit of an extreme. There's a lot of legal jarbish in the notice.

Basically I think it comes down to the fact that some were interfering with (taking profit away) from eBay by advertising in ways that eBay does themselves.

I think they said "why pay someone when we can keep the revenue ourselves".

I was searching Google the other day when I came across this site. I stored the URL in my favorites folder just in case ePN ever decides to dump me and leave me stuck with a bunch of niche sites getting a lot of SE traffic while not making any money. I am too new on this forum to post links, but all you have to do is search Google for "The Militant Affiliate".

Bunch of guff. Ebay's legitimately moving against two really bad practices where affiliates propagate links that are no longer under their control. Auction links for example are supposed to be removed 30 days after auction end. If the affiliate doesn't or can't remove them from public registration blogs, forums, and redirectors, eBay has to deal with whoever runs the blog, forum, or redirect service. Why should they have to do that?
