Default Newb getting frustrated with 1st cpa offer. (PPC)

Hi im new to the forums. Ive had a few blogs before. Diving into CPA now. Want to run a PPC campaign, just to get my feet wet, but it seems like ive missed the boat.

First i made a simple blog, promoting a "free ipod touch" and tried to run an adwords campaign. Apparently google doesn't sell clicks to a site that it doesnt think is relevant. (its a one page blog, so of course relevance is 0/10) This tells me, that i have to make a blog, do SEO, contact page, sitemap etc couple months of posting to get the PR up. I know that with google, getting good PR could take a long, long time.

Next up is yahoo. Got the keywords all setup with my ads, and now yahoo wont sell me clicks because:

"Sites whose primary function is directing users to complete surveys or offers for consumer and promotional marketing or related purposes will not be accepted. Examples include, but are not limited to, the offer of gift cards, DVDs, or other items in exchange for completing online forms or surveys. "

Couple questions.

How do you trick google/msn/yahoo into sending ppc hits to an affiliate offer?
When i read a couple how to's, it said that it is good to have a url relevant to your offer. (eg freeipods dot com) Do you guys have a different url for each PPC campaign, each worded to be relevant to the offer?
Or should i make a generic offers site, something like "slickdeals" etc.
I would pick a topic and create a blog, but they it might be hard to find CPA offers related to it.

Thanks!

There is no point trying to trick any of the search engines as they will catch up with you.
The best way to do CPA is test, test and test until you find an offer that is coverting.
Setting up 1 campaign isnt enough as only 1/10 will become a break even campaign
Dont waste your time and effort in setting up a blog or webpage until you know you have a performer.
You can direct link on MSN & Yahoo to test campaigns, then go the the Big G later with a Silo website/blog.
How do I now this?
Ive set up over 500 plus campaigns in 6 months.
Once you find a winner ramp it up bigtime.

Ps Yahoo hates zip submit offers!!

Yes I use direct linking to test my offers or I may set up an I frame so the offer is on my domain name,
But with direct linking/I framing I can have an offer live in 15 minutes. So 3-4 offers set up in 1 hour.

You should really have a good article posts in your blog with review in your products so that it will be counted.

This brings me back to one of my original questions. Even if i skip my site entirely, and link directly to the affiliate, how do I get my ads accepted to start sending traffic?
Wont they still read the affiliate offer/scam and decline my ads?

You have to make your landing page relevant to your keywords and ads..

If your promoting an Apple Ipod - you want to make a page about apple ipod's.. with the keywords throughout the page.. (with apple ipod your going to have problems because its highly saturated)

If its a zip submit offer, yahoo will stop it straight away, but no such problem (as yet) on MSN.
Provided your keywords are relevant to the landing page, you will be ok.
I wouldnt call all the offers scams though

Thank god for MSN. How long do i have to make some money before MSN follows in google footsteps?
Or can i just keep switching to a different PPC company?
Ive been reading around and it seems all the PPC companys are cracking down hard on CPA marketing.

Scams, uhhhhhh i guess not entirely lol.

First if you direct link, the search engine will approve it if it is a valid landing page. Most offers on good CPA networks will get approved if you direct link them with a good ad and relevant keywords. You still have the "only one affiliate for a given URL" problem. You could iFrame on your domain, but keep in mind that IE might have problems with iFrames and third party cookies, so test the offer.

But the generel info is, it is totally possible to direct link as an affiliate. Don't use scam products or worst case: don't advertise offers that have "Google" in it's name on Google (that will get you permanently banned)

The other question: if you want to make your own good landing page for Google Adwords (or YSM / MSN), yes go ahead and create a good blog with good info and review of your product. Make it real and optimize it. Usually that will work. You have to put some effort in yes. It makes sense if you have an offer that you tested with success.

Yes, I would also recommend Perry Belcher's "Get Cash From Google". There is a video on PPC that comes as a bonus which has some great tips. You will create great converting campaigns if you implement them.

In fact, not only are they not allowing it anymore but the FTC is trying to crack down on the WAY in which we market or promote these offers. They want to start enforcing strict penalties for this kind of promoting. I was just told by a buddy who runs a major CPA network to take down my blogs and news sites. It's getting serious.

In addition, yahoo, google, facebook, etc. aren't even taking free trial offers anymore. We don't know how long term this is gonna be but we do know they're not taking them for a while.

Needless to say, Yahoo's sales had a 13% drop right after they cracked down on free trial offers and fake blogs.

So....we need to come up with a better strategy now if we are to continue making good money with these. You can always just start a real blog and post an honest review withOUT the fake checks with the blurred out names so people couldn't see that it wasn't made out to you and without the fake comments.

In fact, real blogs work better in the long run. Fake ones work for short term. But if you want a lasting income, start a real one and then just start reviewing cpa offers legitimately.

It works.
****ing figures.

SOON as I get my flog ready, no traffic sources will take it.

Now what to do with this domain... I HATE having dormant domains.

The trick really is to make sure your website and landing page are keyword rich. Do keyword research and make sure your content matches your keywords. Use keywords in the title of the website and blog as well. Apply to several CPA networks, do not give up with the 1st offer.
