Default Hilariously fake CPA landing page

Exotic Rentals: $2000 for the day
Angels fitted cap: $20
Borrowing your neighbor's little brother: priceless

James Makes Money
(video auto starts and has NSFW language)

Wouldn't be surprised if it had a decent conversion rate though. Enjoy

Good for him, whoever he is!

I mean we all market the latest weight loss product, dating site and wrinkle cream like we'd use those products ourselves! As if our reviews and "highly recommends" come sincerely from our hearts and not our bank balances!

Whoever he is, I hope the guy's making some good money! Why? Because he's put it out there!

Ok.

There are many more "easier" ways to get "much targeted" traffic to the recurring offers. However, many of these ways comes under blackhat.

Next month, I could just drop the whole 50 and make $120K. Can't do that with black hat. Not without a lot of work. But, it does work, you're right.
EXACTLY!

People seem to brush off this whole Yahoo!/Facebook stuff like it's no big deal.

Where else can you safely pay half a mil and make atleast double?

I've heard of guys paying 7 figures and more for media buys and acting like it's nothing.

Wow, that's the only standard that exists nowadays huh? "Put something out there" and you deserve to make bank? That ad is complete BS. I would guess he hardly makes anything. There are a thousand different namemakesmoney sites. I see the domains expiring all the time. It's really just another scam, forced continuity site that, given the amount of similar sites out there now, will cause Google and the FTC to crack down even harder on IM.

As marketers we find our own individual levels of what we consider ethical and unethical. Just because this type of marketing is what you consider "BS" doesn't make it so!

I simply applaud a guy who gets out there and tries something instead of sitting around moaning that he hasn't got any money and is too scared to try something.

Would I do this? No! Do I call it BS, no! I call it creative and I call it "good for him!"

The landing page is genius. It promotes itself to the average person, by getting them to think that if that guy could do it, surely they could.

Other than that, for people who's been in the IM biz, it serves as a good laugh. I saw something similar on a basketball forum that I was on. I clicked the page to see what it was about, and had a good laugh .

Yes, well, when you see the $40 charged to your credit card the next month and then call "the number" to cancel and the number has been canceled it doesn't seem so fantastic then. And then the next month when another $40 is charged. So then you have to call your credit card company and go through the hassle of removing the charge and keeping them from charging it again and again. Not only that but the demographic that this guy (and those similar to him) is preying upon probably seriously suffer due to his exploitation. But, hey, at least he's out there doing something. Kind of like a pick pocket gets out there and "does something" as well. Nice standard.

If you disregard the fact of whether he's telling the truth or not... it's a hell of a job selling.

He's sitting in and driving exotic cars so there's major proof right there (even if it's not his or they're rented or whatever).

The offer is for $1 or 2 so how's that for a low risk offer (yes I know what it's for).

He's hit it right for his target market (a subsection of get rich quick market).

I'm sure if it is his page and hes doing media buys it could really be his.

If you set aside the possible moral implications... it's a damn good sales page.

How is it "major proof" (or even "any proof" of anything at all) if they're rented for the day to make the video?

That video is pure comedy.

Whoever came up with the idea is a genius, I almost signed up but then I read the fine print and they say after my 7-day trail they start billing my credit card every month $79 (Alt-f4)

Hi Alexa,

It's not "real" proof. But it's social proof. Is it more believable when you see a picture of a guy leaning up against a car in a parking lot... or more believable when you see the guy actually driving it (and not looking around for when the owner is getting back)?

Many people are going to believe it's his car even if it's a rental.

It's definitely not actual proof. Any rich kid that actually OWNS the car could make a video showing proof it IS his car... but it doesn't mean he made the money by doing what he says.

But it's much more believable then having someone on a video saying "hey, this stuff works, I own exotic cars" but doesn't show them.

And hey... there's 2 exotic cars in the video. So they're paying at least $4,000 in rental fees to make that video. How many people do you know spend that much on their internet videos? (setting the morals of deceiving aside).

Anotherwords he's making an outrageous claim. No one would believe him if he was just standing on the sidewalk. But with him driving the cars many people will believe it's possible. Especially when the offer is for only a couple dollars (even though they're sneaky about the recurring billing).

It appears at first glance that hey... I'm only risking a couple dollars and if this kid is right it's worth it.

Vin

I'll buy from a guy who uses swears and talk street over the guy in the business suit trying to upsell me ANY day. Why? It seems more authentic and that's all customers want. They want authentic success, not some guy trying to sell them on something.

This guy on this blog is awesome.

Bingo!

This guy IS his target market.

He's saying exactly the right things that his market wants to hear.

Small town boy makes it...

The people he's selling to have instant empathy with him... and he comes across as real to them. They don't want some slicked back guy in a suit telling them that... they want one of their own.

Ever see dubs magazine... or heavy hitters magazine... same target market. And it will work very well for those in that market.

And if the kid did create that video and is running media buys, etc... and he isn't a millionaire right now... there's a good chance he soon will be.

Or more likely someone hired him to make the commercial. Paid him a grand. And now they have a custom sales pitch to a specific market that will convert like crazy... that if they went the "traditional" way wouldn't convert for that market well at all.

I'm not saying it's right, but it is very effective.

Vin

P.S. It's instant empathy. Take for example if you wanted to teach people to swim for competition's. Would you rather have Michael Phelps be the "hero" or would you rather have the 40 year old mom (who won the gold medal... can't remember her name) be your star?

I'd choose the mom anyday because she's part of the crowd that people can identify with. A 40 year old mom appears normal. Michael Phelps is a physical freak that not many can identify with. Even though it's nearly impossible for anyone to compete on the same level as either of them, more people think they can with the mom as opposed to Phelps.

Oh it gets better. James' friend Kevin only makes $20k a month but he lives in a house on the water and has 3 cars. Apparently he still has crap credit bc he walks around with 5 stacks in his pockets

YouTube - jamesmakesmoney's Channel

20k views in 2 months though. Seriously, I wouldn't be surprised the actual owner of the sites has that house and "James" and "Kevin" are his boys from his entourage.

I havent seen acting this good since the Rich Jerk was popular. If the owner is on Warrior Forum, I tip my hat to you.

This kid has a rare niche "make money online" site and I bet he is doing well converting his targeted visitors. Could definitely do without the profanity though as I don't think that adds anything to his pitch.

As far I know this is a revenue sharing fact. Whenever you go to those sites you may noticed one think the before playing the video you have to install one or two components which is actually Pay per install category earning process. So, if you can go through such application to your site you can earn such amount I believe.

While I think it is great marketing - I think if the kid showed a little more confidence around and with the car - the whole concept would be more successful.

For example - if he didn't look so nervous about hurting the car when he sits down. The way he says "look at my rims" but then looks at them himself to check out the sweet car he'll never get. Just the little things that make a difference.

I think his friend 'Kevin' is a slighty better actor.

But the only time I think he seems truly confident is when he says "It's thug motivation like Jeezy said"

And when they walk near the computer - he looks scared to touch it.

My favorite bit though, is the baby crying in the background with the mother laughing - IN HIS HOUSE! and then to top it all off - at the end of the video - he says "Im'a go pick up one of my ladies - and thats just one of them" hahaha

Anyway - I'm sure it gets the people in - maybe next time it would be worth dropping one of the cars and paying an actor.

The Rich Jerks ad was better

Good read Jrecard. That's exactly what I got. But, he is a paid actor, just not a good one. So, paid actor, rented cars and professional photographer. Get over it already. The rich jerk was brilliant marketing, this flog-fake news crap is just lies. It's easy to sell if you're willing to lie. That's why they're all hiding now. They're not great marketers, they're not thinking out of the box, they're just telling lies. Get over it. Now, is there something to learn, of course, but what, that's up to you.

The power of video , it ads credibility
Consider a headline which you have seen before
"18 year old cracks the code of sucking tons of cash from Google"
How is this any different?

I don't know why there are people on this forum that bag on this guys site. It maybe funny to look at from a professional stand point, but come on. Take a look at it from a marketing perspective.

Imagine how much people this website is attracting. Its not targeting webmasters. Its targeting complete newbies who have no idea what the money making world holds. Unethical to take advantage of them? maybe.... But its business at its best in the money making industry. I would never do this, just because, well I wouldn't have thought of it... and this wouldn't be how I'd like to make money. But the fact is. He is probably racking in loads of sales from 18 year olds looking to make money online.

Funny video, thanks for sharing, made me laugh.

Well force continuity is never a good thing, I have never done this method myself, even though it has made a lot of people very rich. I dont think its morally and ethically right.

Apart from that hes a smart marketer, hes hit his demograph squre on the head, I think he could make even more money if he had a few hiphop honeys in bikini dancing around him. lol

Having said that I belive all hes doing at the end of the day is pick pocketing from people who dont have much money to begin with. How do people like these sleep at night?

this is a good video and marketing, the moment it is being spread, shared and commented on, it has done its purpose of marketing it well

how many of us wish to have that kind of exposure level?
it doesn't matter some are hateful by calling him a liar or fake but i am very sure he will get more than the cost of production of his/her video.

congrats to the video owner for making something.

well, look you guys are talking about it, a lot. even if more than 50% is negative. Studies show if your first impression of something is positive the more you are exposed to it the more you will think positively about it.

The more something is repeated the more true it becomes. This is genius because this guy is totally unreal and you want to show it to your friends whether you want to buy the product or not, but someone does want to buy and that person will be more likely to see it the more you are like, "hey check this out, it's ridiculous".

either way, this is ridiculous :-)

lmaooo that was so friggin hilarious and genius marketing tactic lol. Or maybe not- Out of curiousity I checked his site views and it went from 22,000 unique visitors in April to 100,000 uniques in May to 135,000 uniques in june to 8,700 uniques in July to ONLY 730 uniques in August and only 770 uniques in September. And his youtube channel got suspended. Wonder what happened lol
