Depending on what you're selling and what you're making per sale, I would let the campaign run for at least 100 clicks over a one week period. Make sure as well that your Adwords campaign runs for the entire day/night and not just a few hours (and then your daily budget is used up). This gives you an overview of how the offer really converts. Closing down after 26 clicks is too soon to give up. Are you only targeting 1 keyword? |

Hi Guys, I'm not an expert with Adwords but I have quite a reasonable experience with it and would love to add my views with regards to the question above. @mojuu, I agree completely with what you said. But running an ad like that could be risky & may lead to lose of money especially if one's in a very competitive niche like health, make money online, ete. I understand y Waqas freaked out & pulled out just aftr 26 clicks cos its a lot easier to let the ad run for a while if one has the money. @waqas, I'm not sure what site you're running but consider what Mojuu said above. But if you don't have the money, you'd spend the time on some free sources of traffic. I'm not sure if your signature links to the site in question - I mean the one you're using for Adwords. If it does then I suggest you might need a bit of tweaking. I for one visited your link and I didn't know what the site was up for. You had so many things happening there. You had 'acai berry', 'teeth whitening' etc on that site. What I mean is that, you need to be more focused. You may need a site seperately for each of them to make your site more targeted for the traffic. If you can change that, your adwords quality score may increase hence allowing you to pay less per click. Which in turn means your ad can run much longer like Mojuu said with lesser cost. Remember, all this is based on the site you have in your signature link. There's sure more to it than I've said but I hope this helps... All the best! |

Without knowing any background on what offers you're promoting, my advice can only be limited to general rules of thumb. In the following I assume that you're on a limited budget (say $10 per day) When starting a PPC campaign on for example Adwords I find the following a good idea to do: - limit yourself to 50 keywords per $10/day (so 100 keywords, if you use $20/day and 25 keywords if you use $5/day). - don't choose the keywords with the most traffic. With a $10 budget I would stick to only long-tail keywords (keywords constructed of 3 words or more) - you can bid a "high/above average" amount on your keywords to check if they convert, but it's more important that you spread out your daily budget for the entire day (at least to start). Some keywords convert better at night, some convert better on Tuesdays and some only work weekends, others still only work in the Summer, so be sure to test different times of day. - Get at least 100 clicks before deciding to close down. If your keywords are converting make a calculation on how much a 100 clicks cost you vs. how much you made in return. If you broke even (or even had a small loss depending on the offer), I'd consider that a success and the campaign would be worth persuing. Typically your cost-per-click will drop as time passes. When you feel more comfortable with PPC, I would also consider getting a tracking software that specifies which keywords makes you money and which don't. It might seem a little overwhelming, but it's worth it and you'll be more succesful in your PPC campaigns in the future. This was just a little intro info to PPC, but consider joining a few mailing lists and browse around this forum. There's a lot of free information out there that will build your base knowledge. |

it sounds like your still testing the offer to see how many visitors convert compared to how many visit.. you got lucky by getting one that converted so soon..

I'd also like to add that it sometimes is a good idea to test out an offer on either Yahoo or MSN as the cost-per-click is often lower on these search engines. However be aware that the convertion rates might be very different across these sites. It'll give you an idea whether the offer convert though. |

hmmm...QS o 10/10? Then what's the issue now? I suggest you take a good look at your sales letter. Read through it and ask yourself, does it make you want to reach for your wallet & make a purchase? If yes, then you might be good to go & all you need is more traffic and hope they convert. On the other hand, if you don't feel convinced enough by your sales letter, then you definitely need to go back to work on it or get some professional to do it for you. I hope that helps a bit...

don't know your product ... so will give basic ideas: - sometimes the payoffs are too small to start advertising the product with a ppc like adwords. - the low payoffs don't matter if the product/services is hot and well sold. Decide if your product is worth promoting : either having a good payoff that would cover the loss +30% , either it's a really nice product with high demands on the market , but which doesn't require to expensive keywords. I really agree with mojuu ... 26 clicks is a early closing ... with 10$ you can buy a 100$ voucher and test your product for a week. btw: even if he payoffs are sometimes huge, the product just isn't sold. |

26 clicks is not enough data to draw any conclusions. Sometimes you'll have a hundred or more clicks and no action, then you see 3 sales/conversion off the next 5 clicks.
