Default questions about epc please help

Hi Guys

Im just about to start cpa Im signed up with max bounty and lidango networks

the best epc offers on max bounty are around $0.90 whilst on lidango its more like $7.

Are epc 's calculated differently on different networks ?

Obviously the higher the better right ?

If the epc is calculated by cost per 100 clicks as i read online. Does this mean if you have an epc of $1 you should only be paying $0.01 per click on ppc ?

thanks Robert

Different networks will have different numbers because they have different publishers. Maxbounty probably has a lower EPC because they have many more affiliates pushing a lot more traffic to that offer than lidango does. As a general rule you should ignore EPC and test each offer for yourself.

It has NOTHING to do with: PPC,PPV, SEO, media buys, craigslist, email submits, polls, incentive offers, gateways, forums, google trends, ewhoring, myspace, youtube, videos, web 2.0, social networking, ebay, get paid to sites, buying leads etc...

How a network or affiliate program calculates EPC or conversion rates will vary from one to the next. While some using the same back end might be using a common formula to calculate the rate, be aware there are many tricks that can go on behind the scene.

For example - someone can add or remove clicks, leads or sales to a campaign to inflate the numbers in their favor.

If it is a stand alone affiliate program, you need to ask - are they counting first page, second page, third page, join page hits? Raw or unique?

In the past 14 years I've seen all kinds of tricks played by programs - especially the ones that claim to convert the best. Join page conversion rate will always out-perform first page conversion rate.

p2y is right - what other people claim to be earning doesn't mean anything - the bottom line is you need to test it yourself and see what the campaign is worth to your traffic - not theirs.

Regards,

Mike

EPC's can and are normally very skewed, you cannot compare them across different networks
