Default Are There Any CPA Offers that Aren't Scams?

I'm probably going to get yelled at for this post, but I've signed up for about 4 or 5 CPA Networks, some reputable some new, these include
Affiliate.com, CPA Bullet, Max Bounty and Affiliateer and going through these offers and checking them out almost all of the high paying, we'll ship you a free bottle of our pills for shipping and handling $30+ pay outs have tons of consumer complaints against them for not allowing people to cancel and charging them a monthly fee.

These include Acai, Green Tea diets, Purity 21, teeth whiteners, hair loss, etc...Even FlyCell, which does $9.99 ring tones has lots of complaints. I'm sure people are making tons of money with these with $30 payout, but knowing about all the complaints I can't bring myself to market them.

Are there any CPA offers out there that pay out that aren't scams? I mean I guess there are plenty of zip and e-mail submits out there.

Check out markethealth.com

Their set up is different from typical CPA networks, and while they have trial offers,
they are not impossible to cancel.

How about dating offers? Maybe some are scammy, but I think there are some reputable ones like eHarmony, etc on many CPA networks.

Those email and zip submit offers are not easy for them to get it either,
they have to complete 6 or more offers to get what the offers are saying on the front page.
Those offers are like in the Free Lunch Room.

They are not scams, its standard practice top get subscription fees for a CPA offer. There are basic lead based commission offers at COPEAC for Email submits only , but in future click through to the sites you promote and read the small print to find if there is a subscription fee.

OP, you should check out poker affiliate programs. The CPAs in poker are $75-$100 and quality if you stick with reputable affiliate programs or networks.

In addition to the fact that many of the rebill offers like "Acai, Green Tea diets, teeth whiteners, hair loss" aren't very ethical - the FTC is cracking down on offers like this and I'm afraid some affiliates could get caught in the crossfire.

99% of the offers are SCAMS, period. If the consumer honestly knew what was going to happen with Billing or the Product really doesn't work then no one would Buy into these programs.

The ones that are legit like Zip code offers for coupons etc... pay such little money that very few go after it.

I looked very hard at CPA networks. I did a Ton of Due Diligence and decided to take a Pass. I can't in good conscience market this crap.

Which ones aren't scams? I would love to make money doing CPA, but honestly I can't find an offer that's not a scam., cash for clunkers, $1000 Wal mart card, Acai berry, all of them have major complaints against them.

Going back to the original question - there are offers within these networks are non reoccuring billing. All the lead offers that pay between $10 to $40 do not even require a credit card from consumers.

While I agree with most of the comments on this post (there are loads of scammy type offers out there), I can assure you there are campaigns you do not need to wash your hands after you put the links up. This is why at Offeratti our mission is to promote "authentic guru's" who actually do teach people to make money online. As a network we do our due diligence as well as a complete check of an advertiser's testimonials and rebilling/refund policy. Even our latest diet offer features the real inventor of the formula. If you are looking for a network that is founded on integrity, exclusive advertisers and isn't a bunch of cross published crap, try Offeratti. I mean what other network has MONKS optimizing sales funnels for you?

Try promoting something you like. I see that my best performing affiliates are those who like our product, and are active users of it. There are good deals out there, though they tend to get lost in the noise of the other ones. But, if you are comfortable with what you are selling, than go for it, and it doesn't matter what others think (as long as its legal)

What exactly are you guys defining as "CPA" here? Sure there are tons of scam stuff - personally anything that comes into your junk email file such as acai berry, diet pills, male enhancement, or rolex watch look-alikes are all scams. But there are many affiliate programs that are not anything to do with this stuff - I have several affiliate links to Gun and Ammo sites for example, some others to software or home business models. These are legitimate sites looking for leads and sales that will pay for the "ACTION" - the 'A' in CPA. or at least that is what it means to me.

Sure, many of these networks are filled with scams, but for me - I decide "What products do I want to promote" and then I find the affiliates. I really don't care that much about the network itself beyond does it work, and does it pay.

If I am somehow off base here, please let me know, but to me the products you promote essentially represent in a large part who you are and what your personal reputation will be. If you sell scammy crap, you will be lumped in with the scammers as well.

You don't want that.

Most of the CPA offers promis to make something absolutely amazing and most of them can't provide the expected results and that's why they seem to be scams.

With all the buzz surrounding CPA and the unbelievable amounts of money being made seems to raise some conundrums with the select offers.
free offers of Email and zip sumits that require "participation"
Free trials that are effectively "Forced continuity" programs.
Products that may not actually worked as advertised.

It seems that education or enduring a learning curve may be helpful.
Both the publishers and advertisers need to bear some for of responsibility.

This goes back to some of the marketing and copywriting methodologies that are used and promulgated by the "gooroos" of marketing. Many of these guys will tell you such things as "the product is not as important as the marketing message". When I first read this many years ago, I was puzzled because I was so naive as to believe what Henry David Thoreau said in his famous quote "Build a better mousetrap and the world will beat a path to your door." That a product should actually do what you say it will.

The fact is I still believe that - now, don't get me wrong, you have to have a powerful marketing message to tell everyone about your better mousetrap, to enumerate the benefits of your better mousetrap, to underscore the fact that people don't want to buy a mousetrap but want to buy freedom from mice, etc. All the essential marketing things we have come to know. But I will frankly disagree with any marketer who says that selling crap is the way to go - and the fact is, weather they admit it or not, there are far too many who would love to sell you and I a bunch of crap.

But if you really want to succeed over and over again, sell high quality, guaranteed, useful items. Combine with a healthy does of laser targeted marketing, and you will not be able to fail.

And frankly, that is the only honorable way to market anything. If it's crap, don't sell it.

You can go direct with an operator/poker room like Full Tilt or Pokers. Or you can sign up with a network like pokeraffiliatesolutions.com (it's like Commission Junction except for poker). They both offer basically the same CPAs and provide you with custom links, codes and creatives.

You have to be careful with fraud. Your traffic also has to be quality or you will lose your CPA. Still, it's definitely not a scam and many affiliates do VERY well promoting poker.

Consumer complaints alone are not a good way to determine if something is a scam. I have run an internet business for about 10 years and I can tell you, you can't make every customer happy no matter what you do. The problem with looking just at complaints is that it does not tell you the volume of customers that the business has. For instance if you sell 100 widgits and 1 per hundred does not work you might end up with 1 complaint. If you sell 1000 per day....

I would suggest that you ask yourself this question, is this a product that you would feel good selling to your grandmother? Would you feel like you had helped her if she purchased it? If you do not know enough about the product to answer then learn more about what you are selling or don't sell it.

Hi Jim,

As a beginner to CPA is it hard to get accepted to your network?

Kiasu, I commend you for having the guts to post this question. I got accepted into several networks (without having a website), so I was all gun ho about getting started promoting and making money. After doing some research I was very disappointed upon learning that all the products I was interested in promoting were scams.

Keep your head up and just do some more digging, if you have the patience. I'm sure you'll find some suitable offers.

I, too, have heard that Market Health is legit. They've been around a long time and used to be known as Joe Bucks.

Best of luck to you!

Just my two cents...

There ARE cpa offers that are very scammy and have things in very deceiving, fine print that is easily overlooked if there is the slightest glare on your screen. Yes, these offers often pay a lot and easily convert (perhaps because they are soo deceiving).

But, there are also completely legit offers that pay a lot and make is perfectly clear what the user is getting into and if it has recurring billing, its easy to cancel. There are other offers like Netflix that are completely legit and still have high payouts and convert great.

At the end of the day, promote whatever you are confortable with. If you are not comfortable promoting an offer, then don't do it, its not worth losign your sleep over.

You can make tons of money promoting perfectly legit offers and there are tons of legit offers and legit networks that scrutinize advertisers to make sure offers are legit.

Best of luck!

I looked at your site as well as the offers you have available. Are there more offers available upon sign up with your network? Even if they're not, I would much prefer promoting a few legit offers than a bunch of scammy ones.

BTW......catchy jingle!

How is MarketHealth any different than the other major networks? All of the offers look like the same re-billing diet/health stuff that's everywhere?

I really want to do CPA, but I only want to deal with legit offers...I'm glad to read this post, but disappointed that there seem to be so many scams.

There are many ways for people to protect themselves when they order the free trial offers.

Read the terms and conditions...we all know a ton of people do not do this.

Use a toppable pre-paid credit card. Anyone ordering online would be wise to do this. If you have $20 on the card they are not going to be able to rebill you.

Don't blast me for this but it is also called consumer responsibility.

I have ordered many free trial offers and I have never had a problem canceling any of them. The instructions are in the terms and conditions.

Just my opinion from the experiences I have had.

If you say "I can" or "I can't", either way you are right!

Yes, not all rebills are scams so I wouldnt be so quick to lump them all in the same category. Do your diligence, speak with your affiliate manager, use reputable networks and you should be able to weed out the scammy offers.

But again, many re-bills make it clear as day what the offer and conditions are and make it extremely easy to cancel.

And I agree, stay away from the scammy stuff!

Good luck.

Wow did I stir up a hornets nest with this post. One thing I should mention I don't object to rebills in principle it's when they make it impossible to cancel the offer. I tried calling MarketHealth.com, which looks quite legit. I tried twice once at 9:30 am in the morning and was on hold for 30 minutes and never got through. I didn't try the e-mail so it's possible that it works, but if you go to scamcomplaints.com you will see hundreds if not thousands of complaints from pissed off consumers who couldn't cancel.

The couple of CPA networks that I've found who don't look like scams are LogicalMedia.com, RevResponse.com, and MySavings.com. Although they don't have the big paying $40 pay outs in most cases they do have some nice $15-$20 and I'll sleep well at night.

I'll keep a look out for more and post them as I find them.

Cheers,

Kiasu
