One thing I read quite a lot on here is talk about "scale" and "scaling" or the concept of being able do something in a big way the same as you did the small way, to some extent. Here are my random thoughts on scaling (they all blend together a bit) w/ questions below. Feel free to refute or comment on these thoughts, if you will. This is purely meant to be a learning exercise for me. Thoughts 1) It seems to me things would be infinitely easier to scale if you start doing things right in the first place (so you don't have to go back and correct things later on...wasting your precious time). 2) Some things aren't practically scalable. 3) Time is an issue. It seems the only way to get bigger and make more money is to put in more time and hard work or change your operation. 3) Perhaps the concept of scaling is a little bit bogus. If things truly were that easy to scale (and make more money) why wouldn't everyone with a successful system doing things the small way just go ahead and opt to make more money by doing it the big way. Yes people are lazy but scaling must be hard work, right? Scaling isn't magic, it's work. Work and smarts. 4) Some things easily break down into overall systems and patterns. 5) I imagine the most successful examples of scaling are found in the most successful IM businesses. What are the best people doing that you're not? 6) Outsourcing your work is a form of scaling but managing the outsourced also takes time. So you have to be very careful about what takes more time: managing or just doing the work yourself? Questions Suppose I want I want to grow my affiliate business into a full-blown serious business: How can the concept of scaling be applied to marketing CPA offers? What does every beginning CPA affiliate need to get right in the beginning if they wish to scale their enterprise to the maximum extent? |

Well. The thing you need to do is get it right on a small scale and then SCALE it. It works and is a staple of my business. It literally works. You need to get it completely correct, and then multiply it. That is what scaling is.
