I just looked at my stats for AdCanadian and I found 70 negative entries. I just lost 91 dollars. I just started CPA marketing about a week ago so I don't know what's going on. I've read about scrubbing and shaving but I'm not sure if this is it. I'm going to email my AM tomorrow morning about this but I'd like to get some third-party advice on this. So my questions are: 1. Did I do something wrong that caused the 70 leads to be reversed? 2. How do I make sure this doesn't happen again in the future? 3. Has anyone else had experience with AdCanadian? 4. How should I handle this current situation? 5. How do I limit my risk when doing CPA offers? Here's a little info on the offers and the way I got traffic: The primary offer is 'MyGiftCentre - Revlon Makeup Samples CA' It's an 'Email Submit' Accepted traffic is 'Incentive, Banner, Text' The secondary offer is 'StyleCentre - Dove Skin Care CA' It's an 'Email Submit' Accepted traffic is 'Incentive, Banner, Text' I used Google AdWords and setup a content network campaign for the Revlon offer. I only used image ads and used the banners that AdCanadian provided on their website. The ads went to my landing page which is a wordpress blog that has posts about makeup. I used a banner in the very first post which links to the offer's landing page, below that I included a text link. On the sidebar I placed a banner for the Dove offer which would occasionally get clicks. After this experience I don't feel like continuing doing this, but another part of me wants to just take it on the chin and try again. Thanks for any input you guys can give me on this, I greatly appreciate it. |

Hi, The problem with some CPA record keeping is they reverse leads but dont give you a reason why? Phone number, email address, etc could all be reasons why. I was in a company that reversed leas with bad phone numbers but if the email address was good they would still send this person emails but I didnt get paid. Now thats just plain dirty but part of the game I guess..... Of course contacting the company directly is the best advice and see what they say... Take care Jeff Casmer |

Email submit advertisers are notorious for doing this, usually the problem is that not enough of your leads are converting on their backend or they suspect that the leads aren't legitimate. Ask your AM to contact them and they'll be able to tell you why they were reversed.

You could have done something wrong, your users that filled in the offer could have done something wrong, it just all depends. What sort of marketing were you doing? Also, that is not called scrubbing, scrubbing is when they just do not count the lead at all. |

| Thanks for the replies guys. I emailed my AM and he said that "negative leads occur when a duplicate/incorrect IP is used or if false information is used." He also said that he would try to get more info from the advertiser. I was wondering if this is a legitimate answer because 73% of my leads were reversed. That seems like a very high number. @bozz723 I was only marketing this offer on Google Content Network with image ads only. The images were the ones provided by AdCanadian. |

The only thing I can come up with is that a competitor purposely filled in a bunch of leads to get you out of the network. In other words, that explanation sounds like complete bs. If you are using ppc there should be no reason for something like this. What I said first could be a possibility however. It also could be people filling in false information on purpose to get whatever the ad is presenting. |
