Default Some basic questions about CPA marketing...

I have several basic CPA questions. Here they are:

1) I know that "rebill" offers do just that -- rebill the customer, but are there good rebill offers and bad rebill offers? If so, how do you spot them?

2) What are the other types of CPA offers? I know there are e-mail submits and zip submits, but are there other types, too? What are the advantages and disadvantages of each type?

3) To be ethical -- and to avoid the long arm of the FTC -- what types of offers AND/OR products are the best to promote? (I want to make money, but I don't want to rip anyone off or go to jail to do it!)

Thanks in advance for the help...

Johnny

Johny. The easy answer, is to look at the landing page and see what it says.
If you don't clearly see the terms of the offer, the rebill amounts etc, if the site uses an address based outside of the USA, then it's a good chance, that offer is something you do NOT want to promote.

Now that being said, those offers are the ones who offer a higher payout. They can do this, because they are scamming people and, therefore able to pay you higher.

So it's a trade off, a lower payout, and possibly a harder sale (as the landing page, doesn't use false testimonials and gimmicks) or a higher payout yet feeling bad about the offer your promoting.

Also to follow up

2) There are surveys, which are very similar to email/zip submits. Also dating sites and many different insurance sites (health, auto, etc). You can also promote credit reports (which usually have a rebill thrown in) as well as ringtones (which are also rebills). A lot of things are rebills or data collection, you just have to find offers that you personally are OK with promoting.

3) I would say stay clear of anything that uses false information to promote the prodcuts. Things that come to mind are google fast cash, twitter profits, and oprah's testimony's. Email submits, surveys and dating ads seem pretty clean to me for now (they might get spammed, but to me thats not so bad). Also legit rebills like netflicks, game fly, blockbuster online, are still rebills, but of actual good products.

Just gotta make your own path in this industry =] good luck.

I agree with the pokemon. Look at the offer and decide if you would buy it. If you would then its probably okay. If you would not buy it and you still want to promote it, just stay away from any false claims in your copy. don't say stuff like its endorsed by so and so. You can still do fine with these while staying within the rules you just have to be smart.

I would say the most important thing is to use a reputable network and talk with your affiliate manager. They should be able to give you some of the offers that are most reputable and that have been a long time meaning they are more likely legit.

ALso take a look at the landing page and go through the whole process except plugging in your credit card. How are the terms displayed or hidden etc. If you want a real test then go through the whole process and enter your cc. I wouldnt suggest this because if you find a loser youll regret it

I would also do a google search on the advertiser if you can find a company name etc. If there are a ton of complaints that pop up, think twice about promoting.

Just use good judgement good networks and talk to you am

good luck

There are also cell number submit offers.

I have had lots of experience with them and mp3 download offers.

Nothing enrages Internet users than getting "mobile marketing messages"

Even though they were just a sponsor, I finally stopped promoting even though the conversion was good.

Another type of offer you may want to consider is incentivized offers. These are offers that allow you to offer the consumer an incentive or "something good" to fill out your action.

So you can offer a free report to somebody if they perform your offer. Once they do, you get commission and give them the free report.

Generally these offers have a lower payout, but some people come up with really creative ways of making money this way.

Just thought I would offer another type of cpa offer for you to add to your arsenal

This sounds like a great idea (both for CPA and other affiliate marketing offers), but I'm not sure how the mechanics of it would work.

Since you don't have control of the last page in the sequence (the "thank you" page or download page)...

1) How would you know they completed the offer?, and

2) How would you deliver it to them?
