Default Totally new at CPA.

Hi guys/gals, i just started to read and learn about the affiliates/CPA system and i really like the way it sounds and i'm willing to invest a lot of time and some money (little, for now ) in this project. The first thing everyone advices to be approved by an affiliate program is to create a website, a business one some say... I would like to focus on the computer/consoles gaming niche but i don't have a clue on what to do. Buy a domain and a host to start a wordpress blog with gaming news/reviews, whatever? I am very limited at online marketing knowledge... i've used to work as a real life books salesman, that's all.

Any help would be greatly appreciated, Thanks!

well if you are looking to learn about CPA see my classified advertsiment as you can learn alot from it, im not too sure also if that is a good niche to get into as its hard work and very competitive and on cpa i noticed there are several other good ways to make some quick return on investment

Im quite confused when you say you need to be approved for affilate as you can just simply use clickbank and a forwarding url as your own domain and you dont need to be accepted but if you ment then CPA networks then they will ask you a couple of questions and about your experience and how much budget you have for google or how you plan on getting traffic,

anyway if you have any questions im free to listen and help out

But that's a good start to be accepted by a CPA network? I mean, i'm not an advertisement mogul but i thought that the ideal situation was to have a website dedicated to advertisement entirely, like a service/business... not a blog where i write about news from the gaming industry that for example has a survey from a CPA at the bottom of the page.

For example if i can't find a gaming related product from a CPA, then what? I'm lost and i can't advertise their product? Or in the never ending list of CPA's (the ones that pay shouldn't be that many...) there's always room for this niche?

Thanks!

I agree... the problem is finding the right offer. If anyone has any suggestions please do not hesitate!

You could look over the offers at Offervault for related offers, if you find an offer you want to promote you could then apply to that network.

I don't think CPA networks have many offers for the niche you are targeting,
but affiliate networks like CJ.com and Google Affiliate Network have a lot.

I would suggest first buying a few good cheap WSO or search this forum until you have a good understnading of the industry and the basic idea on how everything works. Then get down to business and make things happen.

Never be afraid to take the plunge. Be prepared for hurdles and failures along the way but keep forging along and youll be fine.

Good luck

We've got a course that just opened today - it's in my signature. We teach you how to build a long term site from the ground up using free traffic sources. Might be something you'll want to check out.

I agree with Ken above me - you have to take the plunge. If your ready to do the work included with free traffic generation we'll be glad to help you. If you wanted to spend more money from the beginning you can work on PPC - but I would suggest building up a small army of sites that are making you money and not costing you a thing first.

Yes, just buy a domain for instance at GoDaddy and use their hosting connection to do a one click install of Wordpress. That is a good way to get started.

Hey Nirtak, just wanted to add in some info from my experience. Lot's of good input already.

I'd recommend buying a domain through namecheap. CPA companies are looking for any website really. Personally I have a blog I haven't updated in over 8 months that I list for CPA applications. Anything you have that looks professional will work. Don't get too hung up on the application process as this is really the first step to getting started.

For hosting, I personally use hostgator's baby plan. This offers you the ability to host an unlimited number of domains for a pretty good price. I personally pay $10 a month for this as I don't like to sign contracts and am on a limited budget as well. You can always PM me for a referral link if you'd like :P (I'm an affiliate marketer, how can I resist lol)

So assuming you do not have a website currently, what you're looking to do is get hosting + domain name and create a wordpress blog. Find a cool theme for your blog from some free theme website. You can turn this into a blog about something OR you can make this your "company's website". If you do the latter, you just need to make it professional and talk about which types of Internet Marketing techniques you specialize in.

I hope that answers your first bit. The second bit is how are you going to market products. Read through a couple CPA acceptance threads so you knwo the lingo and what they're going to ask. It sounds like you're on a limited budget, so you might want to focus on SEO first and do a little bit of PPC. Personally I've done a bit of SEO, but primarily focus on lower budger forms of PPC.

I was a bit confused with the talk of gaming. From what I hear, it's a pretty hard niche to crack as of now, but you never know unless you test. You can look for game fly offers on offervault like someone suggested, but I would look to go broader and simply promote "any offer that converts". Hardest part of this industry is to get started, you don't have a boss to push you. The second best part of this industry is you never have a boss looking over your shoulder :P The best part is making money! Best of luck, hope that helps

Some great advice here. As cliche as it is, every time you choose not to do something, you know you won't succeed

What you said is one way to start! If your planning on going that route - I recommend picking someone you enjoy, buy a domain and hosting, make a least 1 300+ word post a day on the subject and then find a way to moneritize your site.

Of coarse I didn't go into the full detail but that is the basics!

CPA networks are the best...you can choose a publishers offer based on... a Lead or a sale. The campaign lead will pay for a zip code a cellphone PIN # or an email. Clickbank pays for sales only.

The best way to market your CPA Campaigns is via Media Buying:

With Media Buying you pay/per thousand views (CPM)I pay as little as .10 cents per thousand views and these visitors are super targeted to specific demographics by Age-Gender-Income-Education-No of Kids in Household-Ethnicity -What they read-Watch on TV- and more.

More on this subject later...

Not for nothing here.
But I would just get a copy of Zero Friction Marketing
Exit out to get a few dollars off.
It has videos lots of links and key points to get you going, it is pretty much newbie material. But there is something there for everyone, best $60 I spent online in a long time.
Check a few of your favorite marketers that have a good bonus. Or go to the reviews on this forum and check zero you can read up on it and I noticed some reviews had contacts with good bonuses.

Books salesman? I see dollars dancing around in my head thinking about an Amazon ecommerce store front. Even a blog on books that used affiliate links with some good content. Heard of the Kindle? Lot's of ways to profit with Amazon. I bet with the knowledge you already have you would do pretty good.

Once you have a nice market carved out that is when you can easliy find complimentary CPA offers and weave them in with some great content and tips for your visitors/customers.

Thank you guys...I have couple of question...
- as i have a limited budget, can i start with the PPC first and then after some earning** (later after some time) can i start with the CPA. can anyone help me how to apply for the PPC.
- Can i use the blogger.com first for some time to create free website and to advertise the product. and then after some time run my own domain and website.

Thank you Nirtak, to start a good thread and I was too looking for the same. I think we can both hit the nail at the same time :-)

Hey harpreetrock!

Sure you can start with PPC but in my personal experience there are 2 types of people that "start off" with PPC....those that lose money and give up and those that lose money but keep trying, testing, and tweaking until they have a winner.

My point is that if you a small budget try to do some "bum marketing" meaning promoting without having to pay anything upfront. That is what I did with an offer that paid me $10 per email submit then I just promoted the heck out of it and that bit of work really paid off in the end.

Of course PPC is faster and once you have a proven winner PPC will pay you very well, but keep in mind you do not get paid instantly from the networks either way.

Just a few tips how I got approved at all CPA Networks so far. Even with average english skills.

- set up a prof. looking WP Internet/Affililiate Marketing Blog
- mention 2 niche blogs as well
- fill out the application correctly
- PPC and SEO as the prefered traffic method
- call them 1-2 business after submission (important)
- get approved :-)

First get a website, sign up to a cpa network. Get approved then use the cpa offers by adding an extra in one of your afifliate products or as an incentive to make sales for something bigger.

Lol everyone wants you to buy their product.

There's some truth in that though, you need to learn some basics before you start in order to avoid mistakes. But mostly you should just start after you learn how the whole thing works.

Get hosting, register yourself a domain (.com), get approved for a cpa network, ask your affiliate manager if you have one on what offers are hot for search-engine traffic, either design a landing page or direct link... get your tracking set up (prosper202 self-hosted on your domain) and make damn sure you know how to use it because it's important, model your ads and your landing pages and everything off someone else at first. Don't exact copy them but go pretty close and don't "be creative" much because you don't know what works and what doesn't. You're not going to start a new trend as a beginner.

After that test and track, keep improving and learning. spend about 9 times doing action for every 1 time learning, but do keep learning stuff.

Very funny my friend! Let's just say it may be a bit saturated now and I may have had a hand in that!

But if someone wants a never die type of offer I would have to say that Dating never dies and when you opt for the Percentage over time it pays off huge.

Great advice oliver! I remember when I was starting out I was afraid to call them as I thought they were really busy or something (who knows what I was thinking then lol). A lot of these companies never follow up, don't be afraid to call them if you don't here from them! Sometimes, you can even call the same day or next day if you're really looking for a specific offer that you know they have.

Best of luck
