Default Question on approved methods for Addrive

Been doing revenue sharing for awhile, but decided to try some zip/email submit work last night. One of the networks I signed up for was Addrive. I just got the approval email from my AM.

In the approval email, the AM states "We don’t allow any type of incentivised traffic, facebook traffic, contextual, direct linking or CPV (cost per view) traffic."

I'm clear on what incentivized, facebook and CPV traffic means, but I'm not quite sure what contextual and direct linking means in the context of zip/email submits. What exactly are they prohibiting here?

Any input would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
Tom

Thanks very much. Never used the content network and I guess some people might do PPC/direct linking for these, it doesn't seem like it could be very profitable due to the difference between earnings and ppc costs.

I was planning on just:

(1) adding a banner or link like "for a chance to get a free 50" flatscreen, click here" on some of my existing sites; and

(2) writing some current event type articles (maybe polling, don't know), which has been discussed in here and digitalpoint before.

I just want to make sure i'm not running afoul of their regulations.

Thanks much.

Search and Email looks like...

Contextual is Content Network based,
Direct linking means, linking directly to your affiliate link
from a PPC ad.

Please give me a thanks if you found this useful.

AdDrive is tops on zip submits. They actually came up with the model back in '04. We have been doing some form of affiliate marketing for over 8 years and we do about 20,000 or so submits a day across the big three incentive players and I can't say enough good thing about AdDrive.

If you want to do any of the "prohibited" marketing just give them a call. They will work with you I am sure if you are a legit marketer. Most of the zip/email submit companies have to limit what you can do b/c fraud is so common with their offers.

On #1 above, be careful on your wording. Technically it's not a "chance" to get the TV. They get the TV for completing the requirements. If enough people actually proceed to take the offers, it's no big deal. But if there are too many zips inputted with no activity beyond that, you'll probably be asked to change the wording because it causes negative revenue on our side after paying out your commission.

On #2 above, also be careful. There are some polls that say "Enter Your Email (or zip) on the next page for your vote to count". This is viewed as incentive, because you're telling them that their vote won't count UNLESS they enter their email. This also causes a lot of email submits, but no activity beyond that, which also causes negative revenue.

PPCPimp is right though. If you're a legitimate marketer, and your returns are generally good, we can work with you on more edgier promotion means as long as it's not straight up BH or illegal.
