There is a post in this section of the WF titled "How to Get Accepted Into Any CPA Network". Some of the suggestions in that post are not very high integrity and basically suggest lying in a variety of ways to get approved by networks.
Jim Lillig, "the CPA Guy" called out this article in his newsletter and I thought it might be good to share his viewpoints. Quote:
It's because of advice like what you find in that original WF post. What do you think???

If you get banned from one, this report goes out to all of the CPA networks who use that tracking system so they'll know you're gonna send fake traffic soon as you hit the "submit" button.

That's very true. Some of us are plugged into the advertiser's back end metrics, so we see exactly how the traffic performs for the advertiser. It's not the Wild West anymore. There are so many different sets of numbers that are watched now. If your traffic deviates from the average behavior established by legitimate traffic, automatic alarms go off, bringing attention to your account.

I have 4 friends who run CPA networks and I've seen their backend tracking system. Plus, one of my buddies is a top director at ClickBooth. I KNOW what goes on behind the scenes. These people aren't fooling anyone anymore. You HAVE to be honest. Some of my friends I've gotten into CPA networks, I told them to be honest. Tell them, hey, I'm new to all of this. But, at the same time, my intent is to send quality traffic from PPC, banners, etc and to run an ethical business. Then...follow through with your promises! You'll find that most AM's will give you inside scoops on what's REALLY converting a lot better if you show honesty and just communicate with them as if they were a friend.

100% true. Even if you are new and unlikely to bring a load of traffic, affiliate managers will like your honesty and give you hints. Remember, they want you to do well and want legit traffic. If you are open with them (as much as you can be) then they will help you out. In some cases you can't be 100% transparent because you need to protect your high earning campaigns and keywords, but they understand it.

Keep in mind, this is a business. Everyone is happy when legitimate income is being made because it means that refunds are unlikely or at least greatly reduced. AM's get paid on commission too. The more you make, the more THEY make. Win win.

On the subject of being up front and honest, I have managed to get into some of the bigger CPA Networks but I am currently not successful with CPAlead. A lot of the networks do not like incentivized traffic but I was told that I cannot be accepted into CPAlead unless I incentivize their offers.
I don't want to do anything black hat but can you guys explain to me how to incentivize offers to drive quality traffic to their offers. For all other networks I only do PPC. I have no problems with SEO, article or video marketing but was after quick results to test. Luke |

All they want really is for you to have some sort of point or rewards system setup for people to earn the "right" to get a "free product" (CPA Lead) or a discounted product (CPA Sale product). You would need a website to do this. For example, you could start a "get free products to read emails" site where you reward email readers point values towards an item of your choice (either a cpa product or your own product). So, say I read 15 of your emails you sent me. When I reach 20 I'll be able to get something free or discounted that you have to offer. Meanwhile, these emails that you're sending them to from CPA networks. I hope I'm not confusing you with this, but this is just an example of what you can do.

I sort of understand. Does this mean I need to come up with my own promotion say for free ebooks or a newsletter that people need to subscribe to in order to get the chance to win a free product through my CPA lead?
What else can you offer someone when you're already trying to get their interest with the CPA offer? Wouldn't the CPA offer itself be the incentive and I could just drive traffic to my site for free information and have them click on my offer? |
