AD technology & publishing platforms are beyond me: Looking for some guidance and potential help: I have a client / friend with a life guidance type site with thousands of pages. Lower end yahoo Answers / About.com type site. Needs a re-design. 30K uniques daily, 10 years old, making about 5k a month with adsense off 2M impressions. Baseline. (700,000 x 3 zones per page) He's open to losing adwords : ) and running affiliate & CPA banner offers on OpenX or similar. Perhaps some in-text with Kontera. Adbrite & Adblade seem ghetto to me. On the hot CPA topic pages (weight loss, credit, insurance, dating etc) a newsy blog feeding CPA's with strong supporting content & incentivises. Like to integrate opt in lead capture free reports & e-courses in the top corner, Possibly surveys & Polls as well. These are people looking for specific advice and receptive to focused offers. Conversions should be strong. Banners would draw eye in this scenerio based on present design. Not skilled in these areas, requires technical, design & automation to set up. Not to mention experience which I don't have. All I know is he's throwing away a list every day and leveraging nothing. The owner also has a content generation company which is his main focus and may help things. Looking for guidance, support or an open partner. What would you do?? Any ideas??? |

How targeted can he make this traffic? If he can target according to at least a general category, and display category appropriate banners, he may do ok with some zip code or email submits. With 30K uniques a day, if he can get even a 5% conversion rate on our lowest paying offer ($1.30/zip) he'd Net $1950 PER DAY. Generally they are easy with targeted traffic. Here's some example of the categories and conversion rates some of our publishers are getting: DPowerMedia Category and Conversion Rate Examples |

You've got enough unique traffic to make a killing, but I would also focus on creating some sort of viral aspects and other methods to get people to come back and keep coming back. This combined with your uniques will be killer. As far as which offers, test a bunch and then optimize pages and funnels and then test some more. My guess is that you can make more than you imagine if you approach it very diligently and methodically. You've got to be creative in unknowngly to the visitor, funneling them to your offer. Even if its a banner, you should design the page in a way where people will naturally be drawn to the banner. Try higher payout offer like netflix and then more typical lower payout few field submit offers. Youve got a good thing buddy, now monetize |

Great Ideas!!! The email / funnel idea is most appealing (top right zone) Affirms my beliefs. Thanks Kenster - always enjoyed your posts : ) Zips submits are interesting - but may be specific enough where it could get higher payout offers. Dating, weight, debt mid Right Zone, not sure. it is high turn over - but like to build community and not wear them out. Genuine appealing & relevent offers. CPA conversions are enticing, but do they compromise the site?? Affiliate offers on higher volume pages Top banner. in Text links supporting banners / Kontera - interesting. He asked if Google would penalize his traffic when removing adsense. I mentioned that would not effect the flow and would improve relevence. It's a hit & run site with a great name - just neglected - decent content, design is a little cluttered. . I would like to build & grow community and keep things as authentic as possible (at least on appearance) I love content, copy & product creation. Promos Like CPA & CPV are a little heavy - not my skill set - but intrigued. May be looking for help here - a promoter with design & technical skills Welcoming more Ideas or feed back on this one. |

Diets, Dollars, Dating, Debt & Deals are universal. Netflix was a good idea. Zips may work, but thinking higher payout offers with lower conversion. May depend on the page focus If the traffic is hit & run 30's to 50's AOL types, which types offers would you consider for CPA?? |

List Ad Space on Bidswamp.com Ad-space auction That's a lot of visitors. If you put up a banner linking to your auction page you could make a lot of money. |

I would not only use adsense on such website. I would go for other good publisher programs such as value click media and others. Testing them one by one to figure out which one is the best one is the right thing to do here.

| If you have 700,000 Uniques Traffic Daily, than why you feel need of adsense? simply apply shopping.com, shopzilla.com, bizrate.com etc ( you can keep them with adsense) and enjoy earning |

My affiliate manager lets me literally tell people to click on the netflix banner and this has had tremendous results. This about it, with a payout of just under 30 bucks if you can get 1/2,000 daily uniques to sign up for netflix, which is a completely legit value offer (unlike many other high payouts) then that is 15 conversions daily or $400 per day. That is 12k per month or 144k per year. Nice |

Ulimately you can go the CPM route and almost guarantee that you have some sort of revenue flowing. Go the the top three ad networks and see if they'll approve you: Advertising.com ValueClick Media - The Pure Performance Advertising Network Tribal Fusion They have awesome CPM payouts. CPA for a site getting that kind of traffic can work but isn't always guaranteed. However, with CPM ad placents, each 1000 impression is a sale for you whether they buy anything or not Just something to think about. |

It looks & feels legit on the site - converts - hits the demographic - flexible terms. Care to elaborate a little on how you ask for the click? | |
