Guys why cant I use adwords and PPC to drive traffic to my lens. What alternatives do I have to make money on Squidoo?

What's stopping you?

But do you really want to waste your budget sending
traffic to a lens that the visitor is likely to leave and
start looking at everybody else's lenses at Squidoo
(possibly even creating their own lens)?

If so, why?

Couldn't you setup a WP blog or something instead?

Currently the lovely Google is stopping me using my lens address as the destination URL in my adwords campaign. Unless there is another way around this.

Hi ducatibatty, You can try using freeclassifieds website USFreeads. USfreeads has free and paid service. Free service has limited ads.

But i always suggest people to use their own landing pages. It has lots of advantages like conversion tracking & split testing your landing page.

When using third party landing pages, people may be distracted by other links and ads on the landing pages.

I see. Well I haven't tried doing PPC for a Squid lens but
Google is probably doing you a favor by disallowing it.

Take the time to setup something of your own, you'll fare
better in the long run - trust me.

hi,

you can try free ads like craigposts i suppose but why would you want to moetise your lens? you could do this for a blog or yuor own website instead & actually earn from it.

I'd really discourage driving adwords traffic to a squidoo lense.

There are just too many exit points beyond your control. Just look at the top of a squidoo lense under Explore Relate pages. It's the first thing a visitor see's. Lots of links to other people's lenses. Thanks squidoo!

I have great success with squidoo in organic search though, just don't think it cuts the mustard with adwords (or any other ppc traffic).

Why not put the content on your own domain? Setup a blog or preferable a half decent landing page, and take it from there.

Best of luck.

Cheers

Totally agree, you'll be paying to send people to a lens and they can very easily get distracted once they're on there, too much to see. You're better setting up a landing page on Blogger or WP or, better still, get yourself a domain name and set up a wWP blog on your own space, it'll get indexed pretty quickly and give you more chance of a sale.
