Default How to track your link?

Hey,

i want to track my link performance. It seems bit.ly is very interesting and easy to use. But I don't know if it is ok to use bit.ly to wrap affiliate link? Anyone ever used it or have better way to track your links?

Thanks.

What do you mean by "is it ok to use bit.ly to wrap affiliate link"? If you're trying to hide your traffic source, then no it's not ok.

I assume by 'link performance' you mean the number of hits on a particular link?

There are several methods, some of which cloak (hide) your link, but to advise you more you need to provide a bit more detail about what you're trying to do.

At the very basic level just track via subid.

Each network has their own way of doing this so ask your am or just look on your network. its normally pretty easy to do and is the most basic way you can track

If you use wordpress for your site - then you may kill 4 ducks with one shot with AFLinker plugin.
Basically it allows you to have your own URL shortener, allows you to cloak affiliate links with "pretty" url's, allows you to automatically "wrap" keywords and keyphrases in your text with links (affiliate or not) of your choice and includes tracking for generated links.
Tracking is integrated with Google analytics so you can see all stats under one account.
Once you set it up - you only need to create text for your pages and articles - and all link creation, cloaking, redirecting and tracking is automatic.

If you are looking for only tracking then you can use google analytics and bit.ly,
