This free email submit method will make you at least $100 per day

I thought I would throw out a freebie campaign for people struggling to get started. This one is actually really simple and it's easy to get tons of cheap clicks. Now as you know this is for an email submit offer, actually the "win a free walmart gift card" that is available on several networks.

Now before we go into the details of the campaign I want to mention a couple of things about running email submit campaigns. The first is that yes email submit campaigns scrub, and if you're not careful they can scrub very hard. There are 2 main reasons why they need to scrub the leads, the first is that email submits are very vulnerable to fraud. Take a quick glance at any black-hat CPA e-book/method and you'll see that it usually involves tricking people into filling out an email submit. The second reason they are scrubbed so hard is because an email alone is only worth so much, especially one that's coming from a person who is looking to get something for free.

So how can you avoid getting scrubbed on an email submit? Easily:

1) Rotate networks - These days advertisers have modified their back end tracking so they can pinpoint which affiliates on which networks are producing quality leads and which ones are producing bad leads. Normally they'll throttle/scrub leads based on the affiliate id level but if an advertiser notices a large amount of bad leads coming from a certain network they'll start scrubbing that entire network as well. This is why some people experience such wild swings in conversion rates when they split test 2 different networks. The solution here is to signup with as many networks that carry the offer and rotate all the URL's into prosper202. Find the network with the highest conversion rates, use it, monitor it, and if the conversion rate falls off switch the link to another network.

2) Target the older users - Email submit advertisers are dealing with millions of leads per month so by now they've gathered enough statistical data to know what works and what doesn't and no matter how affluent your traffic sources are the story is always the same: younger users don't convert. Sure they'll signup to win a free plasma TV but when it comes time convert on the advertisers back end they are nowhere to be found. Send an advertiser too many people under the age of 30 and your affiliate ID will be on the scrub list for a few months until you get your traffic in line.

So as long as you rotate networks and target older users you won't have any problems with getting scrubbed on an email campaign. Now that we got through that, let's get to the actual campaign.

The offer is for the "win a free walmart gift card" which can be found on various networks. The current networks I'm using are maxbounty, neverblue, tatto media, and amped media. It's a very popular offer that many networks are carrying so you should have no trouble finding it on a network your a part of.

My favorite thing about this offer is that it's so flexible, everybody knows what walmart is and about the products they carry (just about everything). Since it's so versatile you can target your keywords and landing pages to just about anything from food and groceries to gardening supplies and rat poison so the potential is limitless.

Now keep in mind that we will not be running this offer on google search, only on the content network. If you run such a low payout offer like this on the search network you're just wasting your time and money.

So the first step is to pick a category to target your keywords and landing page to, now I'm not going to give away my keywords because that will just kill the campaign when 200 people copy it but you should have no problem coming up with ideas since walmart sells just about everything. Step into your kitchen or garage for 5 minutes and I bet you’ll be able to walk away with 20 different categories to use.

For the sake of demonstration I'm going to use the "shoes" category, the first step is to go to the adwords keyword tool which is available here:

Now you'll want to take the top 10 keywords (broad) which in this case would be:

Save these keywords in their own .txt file, these keywords will be your "root keywords". Now you'll want to download a program called google suggestor:

What this program does is scrape all the suggested search queries that google provides you when you do a search, for example when you search for "shoes" google gives you this:

Using the program is easy, just enter your first root keyword which in this case would be "shoes" and then hit suggest a few times until it stops giving you results:

Once you're done you'll have a nice list of actively used keywords:

When you’re done you’ll want to save each group of extracted keywords into their own text file because each group will go in it’s own ad group later on when we build the campaigns. Repeat the process with your remaining keywords until your finished with all 10 root keywords.

Now your ready for the landing page which is probably the easiest part thanks to dynamic keyword insertion. In case you don't know what that is here is a good article explaining how it works and the benefits:

By using dynamic keyword insertion you can create a single landing page and then in adwords simply add ?kw={keyword} which will not only give you a good quality score (higher ad position, lower CPC) but give your visitors a relevant page as well which has been proven to increase your landing page's CTR.

Here is what the landing page would look like:

You can see that our keyword, which in this case would be "warriorforum" is located throughout the page which will help google score the page as relevant which will in turn give us a good quality score.

You will want to edit the landing page, if adwords see so many people using the same landing pages they will probably slap all the campaigns.

Now we're ready to move onto actually creating the campaign in adwords. When you create the campaign you'll want to make sure you target the right country, in the case of this offer it's only good for US residents so we'll stick with just the US:

Now this next part is important because if done incorrectly it can cost you a lot of money. As I stated earlier in this guide you will want to only advertise on the google content network and NOT the search network or through search partners. I know the content network has a bad reputation and many gurus say to avoid it but in the past year google has done a really good job of cleaning it up and kicking out all the MFA/adsense spam sites out.

Today the content network makes up a majority of my income earned through adwords and if you asked any major PPC spender they would probably tell you the same thing. Don't get the wrong idea, you can run this campaign on the search network but only after you've split tested ad copies, network scrub rates, the landing pages, and have figured out which keywords are making you money and which ones aren't.

When you're setting up your campaign you'll want to make sure that you choose to display the ads only on the content network and on desktops and laptops only. iPhones and other mobile devices should be unchecked because these will only waste you money:

The next section, Bidding and Budget is pretty easy. For the daily budget I recommend that you use $10. I'll talk about our bids in a little but but we will be paying an average of $0.10 per click so 100 clicks is more than enough to decide if certain category or group of keywords will convert.

Under the advanced options you will want to choose to have your ads displayed in an accelerated manner. This will allow you to gather data and find the winning and losing campaigns much faster.

Under advanced settings you can leave everything as it is, some people like to display their ads during certain times of the day but I have yet to see any proof that ads convert better during certain hours or days so I let them run 24/7 but if you want to you can edit them to suit your needs.

Once you’re done with the first page, click "save and continue" and we can go on to creating our ad and importing our keywords.

Now I already mentioned dynamic keyword insertion which can be used on landing pages but it can also be used on your ads to increase your click through rate. You can do this by using the DKI tag which in adwords is: {KeyWord}

But in order to play it safe you need to have a fall-back keyword in case adwords decides to use a keyword like "buy discount shoes on the internet" which obviously wouldn't fit in the header. So to do this we use the following tag:

{KeyWord:Shoes}

This tells adwords that if our DKI keyword is too long to fit in the header, to use the keyword shoes instead. Now we can get to writing our headline.

I'm going to use this:

{KeyWord:Shoes} Save 100%

Why that? Well because numbers and symbols will always grab attention from viewers, especially on the content network. And you don't need to be a rocket scientist to know that the more clicks you get, the more money you can make.

I'll keep the descriptions simple and use this:

# Save 100% with a Free Walmart Gift
# Card And Beat The Recession!

So when it's finished, my ad will look like this:

In the next section you will paste the keywords that you gathered from google suggester into the keyword box. Remember that we first took the top 10 most searched for keywords and referred to these as our "root keywords" which where then used in google suggester. Each "root keyword" will be it's own ad group for optimum relevance and quality score so make sure you only paste the proper ones.

Now onto our keyword bids, as I mentioned earlier we're aiming for an average CPC of $0.10 per click so that we can test out the offer. If we get a lot of conversions but little traffic we can slowly increase our bids and if we get too much traffic with no conversions we can lower the bid or if the campaign just isn't working out we can dump it and move onto another niche without wasting too much money.

Now you don't want to bid $0.10 because that is the MAXIMUM bid, generally speaking you can expect to pay 40% - 75% of your max bid so $0.18 - $0.21 is a good area to start in depending on what niche you're going into:

Click "save ad group" and you're done! Now all you have to do is go back to your top 10 root keywords and repeat the process with the next keyword.

I hope you guys put this info to good use, remember that the key to making this campaign profitable is to target the right categories. Since Walmart carries everything and is so well known you can use it on just about anything.

Questions for you...

(1) Do you tend to ask the advertiser to include your Conversion tracking script, or do you use your own tracking like prosper202?

(2) Do you always send the traffic to your LP, then directly to the offer? Or do you capture their email and send it to the offer pre-populated?

1) With this method I always use the adwords tracking system to track conversions because it tends to be more accurate and reliable than prosper202's tracking.

2) Yes I always send them to the LP, direct linking is always a bad idea because it just exposes your campaign data to the advertiser and the affiliate network who would be more than happy to copy your campaigns and run it themselves. Another benefit is the quality score, when you direct link your quality score is at the mercy of the advertiser who cares more about conversion rates than they do about being "relevant" in google's eyes.

Yea pretty much 7's across the board, I have a few 9's and 10's but those are super targeted keywords and landing pages with not very much comptetiton.

With your example where you used warrior forum when you built your LP did you use the code where the word appears? And that then makes it show up whatever the search term was?

Also if thats the case in the article we write how do we then write a relevant article about a term we wont know.

I'm sure I have misunderstood this step! lol

Maybe I can help answer this....the PHP code on the landing page takes the KW info that is passed from Google/Adwords. In Adword, you can have the term that someone searched on be passed to your website, and then that will display where ever you'd like. So in his example, the keyword was "WarriorForum" and it shows throughout the website (to help with the Quality Score)

So if someone searched for "bug spray" on adwords, it could pass that term through to your URL like this:

domain.com/index.php?kw=bug spray

and then the landing page shows "bug spray" where you'd like

The way I'd approach this is to not write an entire article for your landing page. The goal of your landing page is to get them to click over to your offer page. You can write a generic paragraph or few sentences that states "to get a free $500 giftcard so you can buy groceries, household products and <<YOUR KEYWORD FROM GOOGLE>> (bolded), click on the button to continue". You should be easily able to squeeze the search term into your copy. Remember, you want a higher quality score on Google, and get the visitor to click over to the offer

I'm glad you mentioned something about scrubbing because a lot of noobies in CPA are unaware of this tactic. It's important to note that many advertisers run hundreds of different offers and use the same email database to check email submissions against.

What I mean by this is that if a person has already submitted their email address to say the "Free Walmart gift card" and they get another offer for "Free Home Depot gift card" that they enter in their email address later on, the email address gets checked against the database and finds a match and therefore no lead is credited. :-(

Now , for some questions:

1.How does the {keyword} parameter work with the content network. In search it obviously shows the searched keyword but how does it know which keyword the user is "searching" for on the content network?

2. I was under the impression that QS on the content network almost only had to do with the CTR of your ad, especially with image ads since google can't detect what's in them. Thus making landing pages with DKI obsolete for quality score reasons?

3. How does the google conversion tracking work when using a landing page? How does it know that its supposed to track where the person came from before the landing page? Does it somehow trace which site the landing page visitor originally came from? Please clarify.

4. What terms do you bid on when creating your adgroups? I have created a lot of content campaigns and they never even start when I am bidding under 0.50 for a reasonably searched term, they only get approved and then 0 impressions.

I've run into the same problem. I've got keywords with several million searches per month.....but only 1 impression in the last 24 hours across the board. I also can't see my quality score because I'm not running the search network. Do you have the search network turned off completely, or are you just bidding like $.01 for the search network?

Jeff Scott pretty much answered this for me (Thanks Jeff) so I'll refer you back to his post. As for the relevant article, what I'm saying is that you can write something very generic like this:

1) On the content network he {keyword} parameter works pretty much the same way as it does on the search network. Let's say you have the keyword "men's shoes" in your keyword list and when google analyzes an adsense page it determines that the keyword "men's shoes" is the most relevant keyword for that page then it will pull the ads for people bidding on that term. Since adwords and adsense are sharing the same data, it will have no problem determining the {keyword} parameter on the content network.

2) It's a highly debated topic but in my opinion google does factor in on page quality score on the content network I just don't think they show it. They may calculate it or they may not but IMO it's always a good idea to play it safe. Not to mention that later on when you've collected all the keywords that are profitable and dumped all the keywords that are costing you money you can turn the search network on without having to rebuild your entire campaign.

3) The adwords tracking system is pretty easy, whenever a person clicks on an ad they first go through google's server which places a cookie on their computer which tells them where the click came from, which advertiser it went to, how much the advertiser paid, and what keyword triggered the ad. When you take google's conversion tracking pixel/script and place it on the advertiser's website (this can be done through your CPA network's pixel manager or through your affiliate manager) google will be able to see that a conversion took place and it will tell you most of the information that they know (which keyword triggered it, what website it came from) and from there you can dump the keywords that don't make money and keep the keywords that do make money.

Whoever told you this is dead wrong, email submits are alive and well on google. Banning email submits would be like banning optin pages because they are pretty much the same thing.

Keep in mind that the content network determines relevance completely different from the search network, on the search network a term like "footwear" would get you plenty of impressions but on the content network you'll get next to none. With the content network you need to be VERY broad and generalized in order to get good volume. Think in terms of article/blog titles and meta tags instead of search terms.

I second the fact that email submits are NOT dead in Adwords...I've been running them for awhile and still do. The fact that Gauher's accounts got slapped is one thing, the fact that he resetup his accounts should tell you something MUCH more important...they must be working

I am not saying that they do not convert, i am sure that they work well but if google slapped his campaign it is because they do not like these type of offers and soon enough those same campaigns will get slapped on his new account. Most of these advertisers that make these email offers end up spamming the hell out of the customer and they make it bery hard for them to unsubscribe.

Hmm, this is getting weird.

I was running a teeth whitening campaign on Search and Content, and got most of my clicks on the content network. Now it nearly went dead. Today has yielded 3 impressions total for that campaign, when a few days ago I got thousands.

A possible slap?

I find the same problem with a new email submit modeled after this thread..... but it hasn't been up long enough to get slapped.

I am new to PPC/CPA offers and this post is a goldmine and you could easily have sold it as a wso.

Hey laurenceh,

I always include a few things on my websites built for PPC landing pages, and they include:

1. Privacy policy (see attachment)
2. Disclaimer (see attachment)
3. Sitemap (not XML, but a user site map)
4. Contact us page (with email link at minimum, contact form is better)
5. About us
6. On the home page I have outbound links to high PR authority sites...no one makes it to the home page anyway, you should be sending traffic to targeted interior pages

** On the attachments, just to a global find and replace for "MY WEBSITE" with your domain and you should be good. Note, these are GENERAL disclaimers that you can use as a starting point, and you should seek legal review prior to usage (there, now I am clear of any wrongdoing

This is a generic offer, other networks will have it. I just checked in my accounts and there is an active one in FluxAds, MaxBounty, Hyrda has a Target/Walmart gift card. They are out there

Always have multiple networks you work with...that way if Neverblue pulls theirs, you can swap it with other network offers (and you should split test the same offer against different networks as the WILL have different conversion rates)

Since email submits like these will pay $1 to $1.50, the conversions has to pretty high or else won't be losing money? The clicks do cost something...

I understand at $10 a day we won't risk much, but let's just say adwords has not been a success for me, even the content network. If some campaigns do make money, what's your ratio (4 out of 5; 2 out of 10?)

To make the $100 a day how many campaigns do we need?

Just because a campaign gets slapped doesn't mean that particular offer is banned from google. I've worked with charities and even a children's hospital which had it's campaigns slapped for no reason. If these types of offers were banned on adwords then the campaigns wouldn't get slapped, the entire adwords account would have been banned and unable to run any new campaigns. Just ask people who ran the "google money" rebills what happened to their accounts.

Well when most people are taught adwords they are told to bid on obscure, long tail, and "buying" words with only phrase and exact match like this:

[shoe websites with free shipping]

In adwords that exact phrase would have to be searched for otherwise the ad wouldn't be triggered. While this is a good approach to search, it's a bad approach to the content network because if you search on google only 3 websites have that phrase:

http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&q...&aq=f&oq=&aqi=

And only one of those has adsense, so on the content network that keyword would just be a waste.

So some better keywords for the content network would be:

On the search network, that list would be suicide but on the content network it works perfectly.

About 1/3 of your campaigns will end up profitable but that doesn't mean you'll keep them. I remember my first campaign using this method I was making $30 per day but spending $25 because the conversion rate was low for that particular niche (fishing/fishing supplies in case you guys want to avoid it) so I dumped it. To make $100 a day in profits it'd require about 3 - 5 campaigns in big niches or 10-15 campaigns if you target smaller niches.

This is basically the famous "poll method" you learn in month 1 of PPC coach. Its prety old though, its a pretty good method and works pretty well but you will go through alot of offers and keywords before you find something that makes you a substantial profit.

Its defintely a great method for newbies to cpa though.

this is a great way to get a couple grand in your pocket but if your landing page is like the example given, expect a slap from google real fast... am I wrong people, I don't get how this wso is amazing people?? really?

I don't want to get into daily spend but my general ROI ranges from 70% to 320%. If you jump out in front when new cd's and books get released you can get a really high ROI.

Obviously, that's a very thin LP but it's for demonstration. But with an article, an authority link or two, and some TOS/about us links it's good to go.

Good tips, just a few things to note. Be careful with e-mail submits on Google, they dislike the 1 field information collection sites like them.

Also like the OP said you need to rotate as many different offers as possible to ensure you don't get kicked off the program.

It's important to note that many advertisers run hundreds of different offers and use the same email database to check email submissions against. What I mean by this is that if a person has already submitted their email address to say the "Free Walmart gift card" and they get another offer for "Free Home Depot gift card" that they enter in their email address later on, the email address gets checked against the database and finds a match and therefore no lead is credited. :-(

In search it obviously shows the searched keyword but how does it know which keyword the user is "searching" for on the content network? 2. I was under the impression that QS on the content network almost only had to do with the CTR of your ad, especially with image ads since google can't detect what's in them. Thus making landing pages with DKI obsolete for quality score reasons? 3. How does the google conversion tracking work when using a landing page? How does it know that its supposed to track where the person came from before the landing page? Does it somehow trace which site the landing page visitor originally came from? Please clarify. 4. What terms do you bid on when creating your adgroups? I have created a lot of content campaigns and they never even start when I am bidding under 0.50 for a reasonably searched term, they only get approved and then 0 impressions. I was running a teeth whitening campaign on Search and Content, and got most of my clicks on the content network. Now it nearly went dead. Today has yielded 3 impressions total for that campaign, when a few days ago I got thousands. A possible slap? I find the same problem with a new email submit modeled after this thread..... but it hasn't been up long enough to get slapped.
