Default Newbie: Final Stage of CPA campaign and Tracking 202 is totally stressing me out!

Hi

I finally at the final stage of starting my 1st CPA campaign. I've done the back ground work written a lot of articles and I REALLY just want to launch this thing.

Being a rather cautious soul I decided that I would get use some cloacking and monitoring software on my campaign to keep a track of how I'm doing. Someone on this forum suggested that I using tracking 202. Initially, it seemed pretty easy to use. But then I ran into a problem (or more likely I started over thinking and I've totally tied myself into knots!).

Frankly I am concentrating on article marketing for the moment and want to avoid PPC. however, tracking 202 is very PPC based.

I got to the section on tracking 202 concerned with landing pages (step 6) and it has generated an outbound tracking affiliate URL. But I am confused what to do with this ( hope this makes sense), because under step 3 on tracking 202 your allowed create an affiliate link using your own affiliate sub ID.

So as you appreciate, I'm pretty confused now! I really don't want to use PPC and I would rather in use article marketing for my CPA campaign and at the end of the article have links (such as a keyword url) to to my affiliate pre sales landing page. Then from the pre sales page have a direct link (found in step 3 on tracking 202) to the affiliate page. But if I did that what would i do with the outbound tracking URL as I would really would like to monitor this (found in step 6)

Thus avoiding the cost of using PPC

This might seem a very simple and obvious question but I like I said I'm tying myself in knots and I really really want to get this project up and running.

I look forward to your responses. I also hope this makes sense!!

Use the link in step 6 on your landing page, instead of your link for "click here" or whatever you have on your landing page going to an affiliate link it should be your tracking link.

Also insert the java script on you landing page before the /body tag.

When your done test it.

thanks so much for answering my question.

So let me get this right. I only need to use 2 URL's in the whole campaign.

1. One that links to the pre sales page (which I can redirect via my web hosting company).

2. I use the "generated outbound tracking affiliate URL" found in step 6 on tracking 202 in my landing page.

And thats it. Have I got that correct?

"Also insert the java script on you landing page before the /body tag"

II've seen the video I know exactly what your talking about

Hey there,

Yeah, you got it correct.

1. You use the tracking link you create in step #7 in your article to send targeted visitors to your pre-sales landing page. You can create a redirect to make it look nicer.

2. Use the "generated outbound tracking affiliate URL" on your pre-sales page in place of your existing affiliate link. This new link is now your affiliate link. That way you can track your click-through rate (CTR). It'll automagically send your targeted visitors to your affiliate offer via the affiliate link you setup in step #3.

Make sure you have the 'subid' setup properly in step #3.

Just add the java script above the </body> tag on your landing page.

Make sure you test everything and that you can see the clicks and landing page CTR in Prosper202.

Once all is working, you're good to go.

Hope that helps...

Derek
