Default Dos and Don'ts of Zip Submit Campaigns

I was reading that thread about that new CPA network. The OP mentioned: "The biggest risk with new affiliates is that they might not understand what is and is not allowed when promoting zip submits."

Can someone please provide the ground rules for zip submits to help us newbies (and our AMs) out?

Hey Bob, I'll jump in here for a minute. Basically, zips and emails don't do anything for us. It's simply a way to get people into an offer path, and so that we have a billable action to pay you on. If your goal is just to get people to dump in a zip or email, and you tell them things like...

"it's totally free just put in your zip to see if it's available to you"
"put in your email so your vote will count"
"put in an email/zip to access your download"

...then what happens is, we see a lot email/zips being inputted, and a lot of commission being accumulated by you, but no actions from your traffic after that. If they never attempt to complete any offers because they were deceived into putting in their information, then we never have a chance to recover any commissions paid to you.

We know that not everyone who puts in a zip or email will go further than that. But we also know, on average, what percentage WILL proceed with their address information and complete some offers. The percentage that DOES complete offers makes it possible to payout on each zip/email. Everything is tracked these days. If your traffic is just inputting one field then leaving, or is way below the average revenue threshold, your account is flagged for investigation. Everything is mathematically tracked these days.

Depending on your exact language, that should be a problem, but do remember that youtube traffic itself may be a problem.

Would that be a proper headline?

You only get 2-3 seconds to grab their attention...

I would shorten it to:

Free $500 Gift Card - Limited Time - Click Here...

Your #1 goal is to get them to click.

Think about it - if a window pops up and the only thing it says is "Free $500 Gift Card - Limited Time - Click Here", don't you think it will get clicks?

And remember to test, test, test...

Regards,

John

Depends what you mean by legit. If the cpa network allows it, yes its legit, if not, then no.

TE2: Good advice. Short stubby hyphenated sentences like that do work surprisingly well. Its amazing how short peoples attention spans are -- they literally cant read a whole sentence all the way through. Thats why the short stubby works good...because it keeps their attention up better.
