Default Landing Pages, Forms and Getting Visitors to the Offer

Hi Guys,

It's been a while since I've posted here. Been using all the great advice here out on the real world and have been getting my ass kicked all over the place, especially by Adwords. The good news is that I'm making progress!

Anyway, until now I've been doing a lot of direct linking to test out conversions before building dedicated landings of my own. You all know the main problem with this are other competitors (only one URL display and one landing page at a time) and poor advertiser landing pages that don't convert.

To remedy this and get more exposure, I'm using my amateur background in HTML and SEO to make my own landing pages. My question is this:

I'm having trouble figuring out how to transfer the form data (email, names, zip, etc) directly into the CPA offer when the visitor clicks the "Submit" button. If I'm using my own landing page I want the visitor to be able to just hit "submit" and have the process be the same as if it was a direct link. What do you all do when you make your own landings with form field submits? Should I just forget putting a form on my landing and just do a sales page with a link to the offer? I'd really prefer they submit on my site, then I can execute something to auto-populate and submit on the advertiser page. I hope this makes sense.

I'll keep searching these forums for answers while waiting for replies and will update if I come across anything.

You guys rock,
Ken

Well the easiest route is to just put a ink on your landing page, to the actual offer page. But there are two downfalls with this method.

1.) More often then not, your conversions will drop. Until you get your landing page optimized for higher conversions.

2.) Google is slapping anyone that is sending traffic strait to a landing page/bridge page or a buy now page.

So that means your going to have to build a site with some content, probably around 5 pages or more at least. Then, send your traffic to the content page first, then on the second page you can send them to an opt in form or buy now button. But if your sending traffic to a cpa offer, or affiliate page, you should make your second page be your bridge page, that links to the cpa/affiliate page. It's a lot more work, but you got to do it, if you wanna do PPC.

Tim,

Thanks so much for the reply. I'm not adverse to doing hard work, but just wanted to make sure I'm being as efficient as possible before getting a domain and building landings just to find out an offer is crap. I guess this is why lots of affiliates are strong advocates for talking to AMs on a regular basis to find out what is converting. The stars are beginning to align!

Thanks again,
Ken

Guess I missed the good parts. I'm looking for the same thing. But it's about how to pre-populate forms on the offer page with data from my form. Didn't find that yet myself.
