Hello All,

I'm a new to CPA Marketing and have been reading and reading.
Based on what I've read, these are the steps that one should take when starting out.

1. Register to as many CPA networks as you can. So far I was accepted at the following: Maxbounty, Neverblue, CJ, Copeac, Google Affiliate Networks.
Still waiting on: Azoogle, Marketing Leverage

2. Once you've been approved, pick an offer or offers.

3. Create landing pages or mini-sites for your offers.

4. Start promoting.

5. Test, track, test...

My questions are:
1. Is it absolutely necessary to create landing pages or mini-sites for every single offer? I understand that CPA marketing is hard-work. But for someone starting out, creating landing pages and mini-sites can be daunting, time consuming, and may zap out $$$ in addition to the actual advertising costs of these marketing offers.

What are the other ways to do this? Can you promote offers in your blog instead?

2. Ways of promoting would be: PPC, Email/Zip Submit, Media buying - is this correct?

3. How do you track and test? What tools?

4. CPA Resources - any educational tools you guys can recommend? There are soooo many things to learn and I think a step-by-step guide is what I need.

Well, you have many questions and I'm sure that people will help you with all of them. I just want to give you a piece of advice: be careful with PPC, specially when using AdWords. Rebills and zip/email submits violate Googles terms! You will not want to get slapped, so don't promote this kind of offer with AdWords!

^^ From what I have been reading yeah people are getting slapped but they simply delete the campaign and re-do it with a diff domain name and continue getting money lol...

I am also new BRAND new in fact. But from what I have found through my limited research(and now experiance) dealing with the same problem is WORDPRESS. With wordpress you can build a blog and have that on your main page and simply create additional pages(pages you can use for landing) In this mannor you can very easily create a brand new page in minutes complete with nice clean template... Keep in mind I am brand new and I have questions about this myself but The only thing I see wrong with this is people can click on links out of your landing page(which I understand is not good because ess chance of conversion...)

Keep goin man you sound like your getting accepted to affiliate networks easily, I am not having so much luck...

Hey Bujoi,

Hopefully these answers will help you out.

1. The short answer is no, landing pages/mini-sites are not necessary for every single offer. Certain methods of promotion require an LP (landing page) while others don't. For example, PPC and SEO both require LPs, but most forms of free advertising don't (article marketing, forums, Twitter, etc.), and neither do CPV or media buys. However, some marketers find it profitable to always have an LP so they can build an email list that they can follow-up with or market to later. Also, for offers that require a purchase (free trials etc), an LP can be used to pre-sell the customer by providing social proof (blogs, news pages etc) and getting them in the buying mood. Personally, I don't use LPs because of my method of advertising; in fact, it would lower my profits if I used one.

2. There are tons of ways to drive traffic. You have either paid or free forms of advertising. Paid methods include PPC, CPV, and media buys mostly. Free methods are SEO, forum marketing, Twitter, and many many others. Read around and you'll find more.

3. Testing and tracking are the keys to increasing your ROI and finding what is working for you. As far as I'm concerned, the only tool you will ever need is Prosper (Prosper202 Self Hosted Apps). The tool itself is free, but you will need hosting so you can install it on your server, which usually costs between $5-$10/month. You can use the non-hosted version (Tracking202) which is also free, but it's not as effective if you're driving lots of traffic, which you probably will be. There are paid tracking programs like StatsJunky, but I don't see much difference.

4. You're looking at what I believe is the ultimate CPA resource, and it's completely free: the Warrior Forum. Other warriors would agree that you can save tons of money that you would otherwise spend on useless CPA e-books, by simply going through the CPA section of the forum here. I would suggest setting a day or two aside and just dive into this sub-forum, going back as many pages as you can stand. You'll learn a ton of information from people who are actually doing it and making money. In fact, there are dozens of "gold nuggets" laying out in the open that are much more valuable than a CPA ebook that says the same thing as the one under it. If you feel like you have to spend money to get the best information, give up $39 and check out the War Room. Many people say it's the best IM product you'll ever buy. I am going to join once I have a spare $39, LOL.

Wow, you got in to some good networks on the first try. I was not so lucky, and I have not even gone back to those networks to try and get in again.

Brad, thank you for the detailed answer to my questions. Really do appreciate it! I have been reading a lot in the forum and it certainly helped me understand some things.

I prefer to stay away from landing pages as well cuz I think it will take too much resources. That is why I am exploring other options. I am familiar with article marketing but still not sure on how that will convert.

My advice is to dive in and learn html programming. You are attempting to build a business on the Internet without knowing the basics of the Internet. Its not all that hard, you can do website design with MS Word. There are tons of free HTML editors. Go to twocows.com or Cnet.com for a list of them.

Once you learn how the Internet and search engines work, you can bury little snippets to get your webpages indexed faster. You can set up your pages so they get better quality ratings etc. simply by knowing the difference between H1, H2, anchor text and paragraphs.

Can you make money without knowing how to make a webpage? Yes. But you wont have the flexibility of making things exactly as you want or envision.

I would liken it to trying to learn to ice skate before you learn how to walk.

It could be done but its going to be harder right from the start. Might as well learn the basics now so you have a good foundation. Cant hurt.

thailanddave, thanks! i actually own my own web design company...but wanted to try CPA marketing. reason i'm staying away from landing pages and mini-sites is because of the human resources it will take away from my main company that's making money for me...but if need be, i would be happy to get one of my programmers to do it for me with no problem
