Default Craigslist Question.

Is it legal to contact people on CL and Backpage in a creative way with regards to a CPA offer?

It's not really spam because most of them would be interested in the offer anyway.

Or is this considered going against their terms of service?

So is the only legal way (that works with their terms of service) to get people to contact you first, and then you can send them to a landing page?

I would build an email list in this situation. For instance, you contact them about what they want, tell them to join your email list giving them an intro to solve their problem. Next, use a follow up email a day or two later with the CPA offer. I don't see anything wrong with that....

It depends what you mean by legal. In terms of actual law, that is very different than following all TOS of craigslist, the cpa network, and the specific offer. In general, it is against the spirit of craigslist to just try and scout people to eventually fill out an offer. If you do it creatively you wont get caught by craigslist or the network, but that doesnt mean its right per se.

Again, this comes down to your comfort in doing things like this.

'seeking people out'!!!

sounds innteresting

If you are responding to somebodies request with a solution - I see no prob with that
and you capture their email even better.

Remember your cpa is a business and if you follow up with RELEVANT offers your are in business and providing somebody with a service.!!

We all get this kind of follow up from wherever we buy goods - banks/supermarkets/holidays etc.

sometimes they are good but only if the offer is relevant.
I bought some wine from a wine merchant a while back and then about 3 months later they sent me a voucher for a special offer they where running.

great I did not buy but save the coupon for a later date.

cheers
