Hey Everyone, So I'm having a bit of trouble with CPA Offers. I want to get my feet wet with CPA and thought I'd start out with some simple offers through FB. I'm going to be doing an offer where I can do direct linking, BUT I'm not sure how to track it. I watched a Tutorial on how to install Prosper 202, but it shows that I have to install it into the root directory of my WEBSITE -- but the problem is, is I'm not using a website since I'm Direct Linking. What am I supposed to do? How can you track facebook ads using Prosper 202, by means of direct linking? Or is there something else I can use? Then there is the thing with "Pixels" which I don't understand in the least other than it's a form of tracking? Can someone point me in the right direction where I can learn more about "Pixels" and how to use them to track my ads' data? Any help would be great guys Thanks a Ton |

Hey, As far as I know you're still going to have to install prosper 202 on the root directory of a website you host. From there you can setup tracking links for your CPA offers even if you're direct linking. You'll put in the CPA link you get from the network into tracking 202 and then it will give you a new link to use for Facebook. |

Oh and in terms of pixels, once you install tracking 202 and login to the software there's a 'get postback pixel option'. You'll take that pixel from tracking 202 and then give it to your Affiliate manager to place on the conversion page of the offer.

First off, it doesn't matter if you're direct linking or not, you need your own hosting. Don't be an amateur, get a host. You don't need anything fancy, even an inexpensive dreamhost account will work (use the coupon code MICKEYCLICKS for a discount) but you need a place to put your tracking and split testing scripts. Tracking202 does need to be installed in a root directory i.e., yourdomain.com but you can use a subdomain if you dont want to set aside a whole domain for it (like tracking.yourdomain.com) Pixels are image links (actually fake image links in this case, but thats another article) that load from your webserver and trigger an action in your tracking software (Tracking202, Adtrackz, ClickPimp, etc...) You can easily use Tracking202 to track your facebook ads, just install it on your webserver and follow the directions to create a new campaign. |

My CPA Network actually has an option that says "add a pixel for this campaign" -- what is that? Is it different from the pixel from either prosper or tracking 202? Should I use that one as well? One last thing; would you recommend Prosper 202, or Tracking 202? I believe one is self-hosted and the other is hosted on another server already -- although I could be wrong.

Ok, that means they let you upload the pixel directly instead of having to talk to your affiliate manager. If you click that button you'll see that there's no pixel there. You'll copy the pixel from tracking 202 and then just paste it unchanged to the affiliate network. Basically its just a line of code that you copy and paste. I'd recommend prosper 202 because it includes tracking 202 in it. Anyway, that's what I'm using. Let me know if you need anymore help.

Hopefully someone here can provide you with some help on the installation process. I know I had to do something special because I was using hostgator.

Yea your best bet is to ask them for some help over there. Just backup all the files currently in the domain folder to your computer, that way if you play around with something you still have a backup. In terms of installing prosper202 on a hostgator server here's the fix I think: Install Prosper202 HostGator.com Support Portal Best o Luck to ya |

if you are running 2 of your own offers... can you run prosper 202 on one of them and track both? Having a pain in the butt of a time trying to get this setup to track my own offers using facebook (CPM model)... |
