Default Link Cloaking?

Warriors...

Do we newbies really need to worry about cloaking our affiliate links with our first campaigns?

Is it a real problem with CPA offers?

Thanks for any and all advice...

I would say cloak, so you can control things easier. For example, you put a link on a site on several different pages. Then the offer is taken off the network and you have to replace it so then you have to go change every link. Way too much trouble. Better to just use a cloaking link of some sort and then you can just go to the cloaking link, change the affiliate link it's masking and voila, all links are changed.

Also, some say it's a good idea to hide your traffic because in reality, some AMs will want to steal your methods if you're successful.

It also matters what you want to cloak (hide):

You can hide the:
  • The referrer
  • Your keyword(s)
  • The affiliate link
  • All of the above

John

Hey guys, is there a software that is recommended to use? Also, how does the network track or link it back to you if you cloak it?

I use prosper202 (self hosted version of traffic202).

Not trackable if setup properly.

John

Hey John,

Self hosted you mean on your own website or in the Cpanel somewhere, could you explain more?
