The Bank Service (paymentmax.com) vs. CDG Commerce (Quantum gateway)

I am new to the merchant account/ gateway game- but as I plan on being big someday and want a seemless payment system- I am going to go with a merchant account and gateway and not a third party.

The two best rates I have found for me- (assumed averge ticket of $9 and 400 tickets a month) are:

The Bank Service using paymentmax.com (2.1% rate, .25 per transaction [.20 transaction + .05 gateway], $28/month [$10 statment, $10 recurrent billing fee, $8 gateway], .35 batch fee, $15 monthly minimum- waived for 19.50 per year) - and -

CDG Commerce using Quantum Gateway (2.25%, .30 per transaciton [.25 transaction + .05 AVS], $10/month, no gateway fees if using quantum gateway)

Does anyone have an opinoin about the fees, the merchant services companies or the gateways. Any help would be appreciated.

Wow, I'm glad someone finally asked this question which has been personally haunting me for as long as I can remember. In fact, just the other day my son came home from preshcool and asked... "Dad, what is the best merchant gateway? And how would I go about finding them?" Wanting to make sure I help fill his sponge-like curiousity, I replied...

"Son, there is only ONE WAY to find out who is the best...here's how. Go to a popular internet marketing forum, go into a topic that makes no sense for a gateway post to be published (like CPA/CPM), look for members who just signed up in the past day or two, make sure they only have 1 post to their name and that post is wickedly crafted to seem like a legimiate question. Then, and here's the important part, since they have a ton of credibility, take a look at their signature link and BAM!!! That's how you find the best merchant provider"

While I have worried about the teachings I provide to my children, I know with 100% certainty that this lesson will live long with my son!
