I have been running CPA offers for a bit now through a CPV network. After a few conversions I noticed that my tracking pixel was not firing. I've found that it does work from the domain the pixel is hosted on. Example: http://www.mydomain.com/convert with this pixel on the page: <img src="http://www.mydomain.com/conv.php" width="1" height="1" /> Works fine. But since I have the pixel placed on the merchants domain it won't fire convert.php. I have also tested the pixel on other domains I own and that doesn't work either. It seems to restrict php scripts unless they run from the exact domain that they reside on, which makes a tracking pixel useless. I've been waiting for a response from my hosting company but I though maybe some one here has run into a similar situation. Any help or ideas would be greatly appreciated. I've searched most of the day and it seems I'm the only one who's had this problem in the history of the internet. ![]() Thanks! |

Hmm...just to make sure I understand you correctly - This is a custom pixel hosted on your domain right? It might just be easier to use a tracking solution like Prosper 202? You can run into some weird issues trying to get scripts to work across domains/servers. |

It is a pixel created by PPV Dominator. It is pointing towards a conversion php script on the domain. The script runs fine and counts a conversion when I test it on my domain that the script is installed on. So I uploaded it to a few CPA networks and it didn't track. Now I've tested the pixel on other domains I've got on my VPS and it only works if it's triggered from the domain where the php file sits. I'm thinking it must have something to do with how the VPS is set up. Unfortunately I've got very little experience in the area as I've mostly used shared hosting in the past. I'll keep trying. Right now I know where the traffic is coming from, which offers are converting but I can't put the two together. |
