This just in:

"Important Update - New ECM Funding

Hi Andrei,

I am happy to share the news with those have not yet heard: Elite Clicks Media, a leader in the performance marketing space has announced that it has secured a $6 million dollar funding led Pioneer Venture Fund.

I want to personally thank every one of you that stuck with us through this transition and let you know that affiliate payments will now resume as normal. I realize there may have been some misinformation about ECM shutting down and starting as a new company. Simply put, my former partners have decided to start new companies and did their best to redirect assets and relationships to their new companies. I don't blame them for that and I wish them the best of luck in their new endeavors.

On to the good news...

The influx of capital will be used to develop new in-house offers, help cash flow our super affiliates, and lastly launch a call center to monetize data from our soon to be released proprietary offers. I will remain the majority shareholder of the company so you don't have to worry about the core mission of ECM changing. I have always been driven by helping others achieve their goals and this influx of capital will give us so many more opportunities to do just that.

To your success,
Ryan Machara

-Elite Clicks Media Affiliate Team"

Promising news ... we'll see how it develops.

I hope ECM does well but I never ran with them because I wanted to see them establish solid ground.

I met Ryan at multiple shows over the years and he was always a great guy, I'm not into flash though, $5 business cards and big parties are paid for with one thing, affiliate money, if you want to impress me, pay me fool, I don't want to see your staff living the good life on my efforts.

Even if you make your own money as a merchant or affiliate, it says a lot more these days to be humble about it if you want to run a network. It's always the new networks with the biggest flash that end up having threads like this in a year or less.

Coincidence?

Ryan helped start C2M and they had a falling out or whatever the case was that he was sent packing from his own company and now these guys all jumped ship and affiliates were left waiting for money which just can't happen.

I don't give a **** if Bill Gates funded them, you only get one shot with affiliates and if you make a mistake, your fault or not, its with you forever.

The one unforgivable sin of a network is slow pay or no pay, it's the same thing. I hope they can make a solid comeback but it would be advisable to let them work at for awhile before trusting them with your money.

I sure hope this news turns out to be accurate and all of us ECM affiliates get paid what we are owed.

It's going to take some time before I'm ready to trust ECM with my money.

Now, I'm thinking, would be the time to start getting worried.

Things have really started to go south for this network..

Per Action Rob...Couldn't agree more, if you mess around with publishers money, you're done as a network. One of the most important roles if not the most important is floating money and paying the people you depend on for your business, on time every time. Failure to do that will result in the downfall of a network.

I agree about the flash comment as well...some of those parties can cost in the 6 figures, especially the big events in NYC and Vegas...Think of what you could do to improve a network with $100k....enhancements on the tracking platform, taking that money and providing a contest for publishers....what i find most funny is that at those parties, it's nearly impossible to conduct business because of how loud the music is and how crowded the venue is...and even worse, you have other networks crashing the party and reaping the benefits of having 20-30-50 publishers in one location.

COPEAC is guilty of this at times as well, especially in NY because it's in our backyard but we try to keep costs at a minimum to ensure we're putting our resources into more important ventures than a 4 hour party.

Tried calling ECM but their number is not working now ... will all the money they got now (well, so they say) at least they could have a couple of people handling the phones and letting people know what's going on.

Even if the story about being funded is true, it's not like they hand you a check. In very rare cases a rush is put on it, but generally it's a couple of months and a mountain of paperwork before any cash changes hand.

If he really wants to save ECM and restore faith, then he should sell his car to pay affiliates, allegedly he has a lambo, that is, if its even paid for.

Also, all those guys claimed to be huge affiliates, ok, well it should only take you a week or two of traffic to pay everyone off. A big affiliate should be able to clear a nice 5 figure net per day that can all go to paying the networks debts.

That's where I lose all respect for people, if you really are a baller, you should have no problem paying your bills, especially to hard working people who need it. If you're just lying about all that, and can't come up with the money on your own, you deserve to be out of business anyway.

Bob,

Totally agree with your comments.

Of course, the wishful thought process for me (and probably others waiting on their commissions) is "Well, they got the money now so where are my payments?"

As you said taking care of the commissions they owe is probably NOT their first order of business and it might take some time till (the remaining) ECM guys honor their promises (provided it does happen).

Trying to stay optimistic as far as this whole shenanigan goes ... just too bad some IM lessons are that expensive

Hey guys, usually just a troll but I've got the inside scoop on this. I was an affiliate and can vouch for almost all the ECM guys and got this info today from one of them. one or two people there had some major problems which caused the split.

The Ryan guy who sent out that funding email was kicked out of c2m as well. He was one of the original founders of both networks.

From what I understand he has some personal problems including drugs. Affiliates at their Vegas party confirmed that dude was on some major drugs there.

After a number of incidents with drugs and stealing money from the Elite Clicks bank account on two separate instances, some of the bigger partners resigned from the network.

When the first group of partners resigned things started to fall apart over the next few weeks and a second batch of ECM guys left the company as well. When this happened this Ryan saw the company going down and tried to pull funds from the ECM bank accounts and put them in his personal account.

In order to reverse those wires from his personal account ECM had to file a fraud report which caused the account to be put on a fraud freeze. In order to get the freeze lifted multiple signatures had to be gathered including signatures from the old resigned partners. There has to be like 80% ownership sign docs to release funds into a new account and the process is long and has to go through review.

After getting the full story I see now why the main partners resigned.

It's a shame a bad apple or two drove the downfall. They were one of my favorite networks and a great bunch of guys minus a couple. I'm confident I'll get what small payment I am owed when the funds are in the hands of the right guys.

It seems if Ryan landed this funding money you'd think he would pay his affiliates.

Found this on a blog comment post, which confirms the story I got from the other party. It is a comment from Greg Davis who was in the first group of partners to leave ECM, before it came crashing down.

"Let me set the record straight. If you want to know who caused the mess at ECM, look at who's left there. One person. I'm not going to mention any names but why would everyone else leave and create 2 new companies? Why would his first CPA network kick him out?

The partner left at the ECM locked all of the other partners out of hitpath and more importantly the bank account, making it impossible for us to pay our affiliates. We are currently in the process of reversing the damage so we can receive the payments owed to ECM and pay all the pubs. It's taking a long time because there was a lot of damage done and we were locked out of everything but everyone WILL get paid.

Like I told my list, I would not do business with ECM, which is saying a lot because I own part of the company. I'm not confident in this so called $6M cash infusion."

All makes perfect sense now why the Rockstar Alliance guys were the first that left the network. Good for those guys taking a stand.

I'll be keeping a close eye on this as I wait for payment.

Good post cashola, confirming my insider story. I've got even more info coming up that I'll post when I can verify.

Greg was one of the major partners that was in the first group to leave ECM along with Luke Sample and Jon Shugart. He shouldn't have to pay out of his own pocket when everything went down long after he left with the rockstar alliance guys. Sad.

Where is this $6million this Ryan guy said he got and emailed to all the affiliates? you'd think he'd be paying his affiliates at this point from that or his own pocket instead.

Also, Ryan is not the one with the Ferrari or whatever. That was one of the rockstar alliance guys that left the company with Greg after they had the internal problems with Ryan. Ryan drives an acura or accord by looking at his facebook so I don't count on this dude paying anyone.

ECM still owes me some money too but if I were Greg I wouldn't pay a dime to the affiliates. Maybe he is a bigger person than me, but would you pay out of your pocket? It's not his responsibility.

Kudos to the other ECM guys, so I'll wait for the accounts to get unlocked to get my small payment.

Just to update this. I've been paid the money ECM owed me. Received a check in the mail last week. So, if you are owed money and have been in contact with them you should hopefully be taken care of soon.

Second that.

I got a check from ECM last week for the full amount owed. I deposited it and it went through fine. Took a while but I'm sure glad I got paid eventually.

Hope all of you guys get paid soon too.
