Default Need some help- Newbie :(

Hey pros, sorry I have to ask newbie questions about affiliate marketing. Hope you can spare some time to help me out.

My good friend made so much money past few days, basically he called it "retarded money" put it this way which will take a year for me to make...sad but true. Had me sold once he shoud me the numbers,I didn't listen before.

I've been reading these forums for sometime now, but never got a solid grip of getting it down or knowing what to do.

He told me before sell ebooks, any other product regarding affiliating it. I know the process but never got down of actually uploading a front page. All I know is

1. Set up landing page- Videos & information direct them straight to the point regarding the product. So when they buy you make 50% of product value or along those lines.

2. Have a email sign up for newsletter, get people wild up about the prouct.

3. Write articles, use adwords to get traffic to your landing page.

Simple.
I just need some advice to get started on this. Where do you find these products, I know clickbank is a good source for a start.

Thanks.

clickbank, paydotcom, comission junction, various cpa networks, you can find products to promote all over the place. Just look around and find one in a niche that fits your needs and then do the product research to pick the best product(s) to promote. I also suggest you do niche research when picking your niche so that you can have success with as little work as possible. You are looking for a niche that is long term, in demand, and low to semi low competition. However, I do know of some people who have succeed in saturated niches as newbies. However I consider those to be the exception to the rule.

What else would you like to know? I can help you out as much as possible in order to get you started

Hey there newbie

first of all you aren't a newbie as you know the generic process. Sure there are some flaws in your model but at least you have an idea about what you dealing with and the basic structure of ur business model.

Just need refining a little bit. Not to worry.

Before finding the product you need to start taking action on some basics and a few things to learn about domain registration, hosting, ftp and stuff like that. you can do that hand in hand while finding your product.

Clickbank is an excellent resource for products so you answered your own question here.

Before product comes niche and micro niche if possible. So you first need to figure out which niche you gonna work in and then dig a little deeper and start finding products in that niche as you can't just choose a product randomly.

Ask a more detailed or should I say specific question and I'll be glad to help.

By the way I am not a pro but at least know enough to give you a start so I'll try and help otherwise there is definitely gonna be fellow warriors here giving you invaluable advice.

Also increase your post count and participate more in the forum.

hope it helps.

Simply put here's the process...

- Pick a niche - make sure you're in a market where people are buying.

- Pick a product - something that converts and that ideally has lots of promotion materials already made for you.

- Do keyword research - If you're going to use PPC ads do research on which keywords are most likely going to lead to a sale and cost the least amount of money. Consider how much you might have to pay in order to make a sale... use a 1% - 2% conversion rate as an average estimate

- Pre-sell with a landing page - write up a html page that explain the product and why people should consider buying it. Video works well here too.

- Capture emails - try to get people to opt-in somewhere on your landing page by offering a free report, product...etc

- Drive traffic - PPC, articles, youtube, social media, emails...etc

There's loads of info on here that explain more of the details on this, but if you don't want to have to hunt around you can easily buy a guide that explains the process in more detail....

Keep in mind as well there are other way to make a 6 figure income online too...

There are many different ways to approach affiliate marketing and there are many types of marketing under the affiliate marketing umbrella. You are posting in the CPA section, which is a type of affiliate marketing but unlike selling products and making a percentage of sale, you are effectively getting paid for lead generation.

You get the general idea, but now you need to pick a path and focus on it. You can do cpa, or clickbank products or more traditional cost per sale affiliate marketing with physical products.

The real question comes down to what you know. Can you build a web site, do you have any experience with affiliate marketing at all?

Glad you are taking action and figuring out what your friend did to make money and pursuing it yourself. Keep it up bro

All i will say is whatever route you go down in attempting to make money, concentrate and focus on one particular method of making that money at the start.

There is nothin worse than putting a half hearted effort into many different methods of generating money.

Instead put a lot of effort into one system or method.
You can expand from there once you have succeeded with this method or system.

DuncanB is absolutely right. You will hear of people making huge money with every single method and traffic out there. Chasing each one half heartedly will do yourself no good at all.

Focus and stick with it long enough to make it work and resolve the obstacles you face. Making money is more mental than technical.

Find a market first where people are spending money. Then determine the way you plan to monetize the market. (i.e. cpa offer, ebook, course, clickbank, plr, etc.) Then pick one traffic method and perfect it. If the market is there the traffic will not be difficult to get. Use the forum to sift through and find what traffic model suits your budget and lifestyle.

cyp3r, you are definately heading in the right direction!

You have gotten great responses, all with valuable information.
My advice is to read around the forums, see what people have to say about the different aspects of affiliate marketing. I agree with Lou Diamond, its important to find something that sparks your interest, chances are if you are interested, other people will be too. Do some research, find out what is popular right now, what is converting well for other people, and once you figure out which niche you are interested in, stick with it!

I would suggest contacting an affiliate manager from any network, they are here to help you and they will give you as much guidance as they can, it becomes a mutually benefitial relationship, even a friendship. If they dont have the answer to your question, they have the resources to find out exactly what you are looking for.

You can feel free to contact me if you have any questions of any sort and id be happy to answer them for you.

clickbank is the perfect place for a newbie to start... just set up a blog/site where you promote the product. if you want to, start building a list using aweber... you can provide some free info to entice people to sign up with you... etc... etc...

then you have to drive traffic to this blog/site and lots of it!

just take lots of action every day towards your goal and you will reach it

also, learn from your friend who is already successful! ask him if he can teach you a thiing or two

Finding the offers is easy. Clickbank, PayDotCom, Commission Junction, etc... You can also get started with free lead gen offers (easier in my opinion), you just need to get some accounts with CPA networks. Here is a site that will help you find some good networks: 600+ CPA Networks and Publisher Affiliate Networks Reviewed // AffiliatePaying.com.

However, you need to have a well defined process. There are many different strategies out there, but you choose one to start with.

First, decide on the traffic source (don't use several simultaneously). Second, choose a niche. After doing this, it's time to decide on how you are going to promote the offers (are you going to use landing pages? are you going to capture leads? etc..), choose an approcah. Finally, start picking offers and conducting tests. Use this forum as well as your affiliate managers to get some help.

Things are not very complex, but most beginners overcomplicate everything, so don't do this. Just choose a traffic source, pick a niche, define an approach and start testing.

So far, I don't have 1 single student who has tested 5 or more campaigns without finding at least 1 winner. And I intend to keep this success rate.
