CPA Networks: Accuracy of Your Details

Hi

I was just wondering if you could join a CPA network under your name, and have cheque made payable to a different name? Or if your paypal name was different to the name you used to sign up to the CPA network, would that be a problem?

Also, would it possible to change such details later?

I have payments made to my company, not to me. So it is possible in that example.

Your CPA network is going to ask for Tax Id info before they pay you. If you can supply that, and explain the naming difference to your AM, you'll probably be OK.

That would be a BIG red flag for fraud.. so if your doing this you should get a good explanation ready

With most networks, the name you are registered under needs to be the same as the name on the check that is written. However, it is possible that your main contact could be a different person than the name listed on the account. Before you get paid (usually when you sign up), a Tax Id # will be asked for as well as a W9/W8- this information must be the same as the information listed on your account in order to get paid.

If you need to change any info, contact your AM, I am sure they could help you fix/change anything.

Yeah, the best and really only advice I can give here is to ring your AM up and explain everything. Obviosuly flags will be raised all over the place if you dont, so transparency when dealing with anything that can be contrued as fraud related is paramount.

Unfortunately there is a lot of fraud in this industry and we must all pay for it in some way or other
