Default Could use some advice on my 'angle of attack'..

Hello. I have never posted here at this subforum before, as all my efforts have so far been on Adsense, so I have most of my posts over in that subforum. However, I have been lurking here for awhile, as I have decided to branch out into CPA and just got accepted into a couple networks. Don't know if this kind of question is normally asked here, but I was wondering if I could get some of you experienced CPA promoters to help me tap into my creativity.

I did market research on the type of CPA offer I wish to promote and learned that the majority of people that use this kind of offer are female, young-middle aged, african american, less affluent, with no college education.

I want to keep this as simple as possible, I use wordpress blogs the most, and wanted to just create a simple blog highlighting my personal experiences with some of the offers I will be promoting. Problem is, I am not african amercan, and I did go to college, so I guess I am trying to find a way to really relate to my audience and am having a hard time figuring out exactly how to do that. I really want my visitors to be a able to trust in what I am saying and relate to me as well.

Any suggestions?
Thanks!

Hi Aprilm, welcome to our the CPA section of the forum. Seems like you have a good head on your shoulders and good internet marketing acumen, you are just looking for a good way to connect with your followers.

Is it absolutely imperative that you be African American to connect with your followers? The thing about the internet is that it is inherently impersonal. Its hard to trust and hard to actually feel as though there are real people on the other end. This is problematic when trying to do stuff like blogging.

One option is to just pretend to be African American and hide behind your copy. But I think that misses the point. You are still hiding behind a blog name and your followers will likely get that sense.

My suggestion would be to just use a lot of video on your blog. Video is an extremely powerful way to connect with your visitors. By using video, even if you are not African American, your followers will see you as a person and a huge barrier of distrust and impersonality will be lifted. Ok, you might not be exactly like your audience, but you will be real and this will give you a lot more credibility and trust then pretending to be African American and not putting any pictures or videos of yourself.

So i don't know exactly what you are doing or what offer you are pushing, but def try video. My two cents for what its worth...probably not much admittedly!

Hi Kenster! I was hoping you would chime in. Like I said, I have been lurking and noticed you seem very experienced. So thanks for your input!

I guess I don't have to be African American to really reach out to people that are. And you are so right about the internet being terribly impersonal. It's very hard to trust what anyone out there is saying on the net.

So you are recommending video to personalize my user's experience. Sheesh....I have never done a video ... ever...haha.. I have a webcam, I wonder if I can take video that way. What kind of videos do you think would be most effective, the kind where you are sitting in front of the camera talking about your topic, or the kind where you are showing the user how to ...say....fill out one of the offer forms. (where they can actually see your desktop but they can't see you)

I never thought of videos, thanks for the suggestion. I detect a learning curve up ahead.
