How do I make my first commission?

Hello Fellow Warriors,

This is such an invaluable forum for internet marketing. There's just so much information and techniques which could really help people who wants to make money online.

However, I have not been able to get the results that I've been expecting. I guess this is from information overload. I'm just so overwhelmed by the amount of techniques I don't know which to follow.

I have tried different methods and have learnt quite a bit. I'm fairly new in IM, less than a year, and it really saddens me that I'm not able to make at least a decent income online.

Alright, excuse me for the resentment. I'm just disappointed with myself. Recently, I have managed to get accepted into 2 CPA networks which I think is a real blessing. I've been promoting with Media Buys but I just can't convert. I don't know if it's the wrong landing page, or the wrong offer, or what not. I have read Kenster's WSO and it is helpful, though it's not what I really need.

I need someone who can coach me with real live campaigns and teach me how to do testing & tracking because this is what I really need help with. Most of the courses just tell you strategies on the surface and they charge ridiculously high prices for live campaigns. I can't blame them, we're all here to make money.

The thing is, I am in real big trouble now. I'm having extreme financial difficulties because of a non-performing brick & mortar business and I just need to find a way that I know will provide income for me.

Is there anyone willing to help a decent guy trying to make a decent living online to achieve success? I don't have a lot of money right now but I do have some savings and I don't mind using it as long as I get honest, no hype, genuine coaching that can get me out of this troubled times.

I'm sorry for this long post and it's not like me to share stuff like this, but I know everyone here is helpful and can perhaps lend me a helping hand.

It takes a real Mensch to put the hat out the way you have.

I wish I could help, but I've only been doing CPA for about 24 hours.

I did find a link to an incredible amount of free info, which included some info about testing and tracking. I'll add it in later, or if I don't - PM me about it.

Despite the titles of most WSO's you are probably not going to replace an income doing any IM fast enough to solve your current financial problems. The quickest methods seem to involve providing services, either to off-line businesses (such as making websites or doing SEO) or by selling something to other Warriors.

P.S. - I don't know what you mean by 'live' campaign. Can you elaborate.

What is your brick and mortar business? Is there any way you can take that online by selling an information product based on your specialty?

ie:
bakery "Grandmothers secret recipes for 12 artisan breads that will melt in your mouth"
beads: "How to make dazzling beaded necklaces for fun and profit"

Expecting a full time income from your IM efforts this soon might be a little unrealistic, but what do you already have that you can bring online? What are your existing assets? That might be where you want to start.

Also, for quick traffic I use Google AdWords.

I know where your coming from with not being able to see results and start making money, I'm just starting to see real income, buying another product and learning more information is not the key to seeing results. The key for me was traffic.

You can make the prettiest landing page in the world, you can have a killer product you are promoting, but if you don't have not targeted traffic you will not make that much money.

Most people say that you should stay away from paying for your traffic but I disagree, by just starting off with a small budget of lets say $25 dollars you can find a website owner or a paid advertising network that you can at least double your daily spend, of course this is not a sure fire deal that you will double your income but once you do start making money with one campaign you can track and increase your income by using sub id's with the keyword in the sub id, that way you can see what was the exact keyword that you are bidding on that is converting, . Buying traffic was the best thing for me because of time.

For me, writing articles can make money as well, but lets be honest you have to write like crazy to get thousands of clicks to your website or LP in a day. I highly recommend start off with low payout offers that convert instead of the higher priced products that require you to spend a good amount before you see a return. Don't be afraid of a broad term if the cost is low, many times you will find that you can get cheap traffic by going after a broad term that is most relevant.

For example: Grab a low paying offer that is very simple for visitors to fill out, lets say one field email or zip submit, go to compete.com and put in the url of the product your promoting to see if the traffic is increasing and how many unique visitor this website receives.

Lets say you are promoting an email submit for a shopping product, and you directly link in the beginning with relevant keywords. On the yahoo content network I've gotten clicks for about 0.03 cents, put in about 500 keywords that are related to shopping and let the campaign run 3-5 times the payout of the offer.

If this offer doesn't convert you can try a new landing page and test again, and if it still doesn't convert you can try another offer. Using this same process. The key with any campaign is just testing until your successful, and keeping an eye on what is working for other people in your marketplace helps as well.

Another thing you can do is write articles for associated content if you low on funds. I highly recommend this, just make sure you talk about your local area and you bring something fresh, so that way the payout will be better. You can also write for other people here in the forum, but whatever you do don't give up, there is always a campaign waiting to be found, make sure you track everything with sub id's and scale up with your highest converting keywords.

Well, i mean actual campaigns that are proven to make money this very instant. Thanks for your advice

Unfortunately no-one is going to give you their blueprint for a measly coaching fee.

You have to make your own blue-print. It's going to take a lot of time, work, and risk capital.

There is no need to pay someone to learn tracking. Google has all the info you need. Search for Prosper202. Search this forum. Get a server, load up the software, start figuring it out. Testing is a natural extension. Load up some campaigns, track them. Learn like everyone else.

If you are in a desperate situation, IM is probably not your best choice right now. Do you really want to pursue some risky venture when you need secure income?

Really, you need to pick ONE tactic and work at it until it is profitable. Make sure you do not start a tactic and then in the middle move to another, and then another. Doing one task at a time is the key.

Do not join loads of progs just one and give that a go for a few months.

If I wsa starting again I would join a private forum and get some insider coaching from others

nobody is going to give you a real blueprint or niche

I can send you on the right track if you want. Best thing for you would be to study some PPC (Adwords/Yahoo) and do Pay-Per-Lead advertizing. It's not as difficult as making people take out their credit card, buy something and only then will you get a commission. Stick to something that's easy, 100% white hat and works very well.

Yes and start small as you learn the ropes. Most tactics work once you work at them long enough, so as other people said, it will be really tempting to jump around if you dont see immediate success. Just keep in mind that people using the same general tactic are making money so it works, you just need to find out how.

I agree ...

I think if you find something that converts in your PPC test with $50- $100 direct linking test then you can create a landing page and run the test again to see some improvement.

Once you are happy with your testing and you know you have an offer that converts then try other methods like PPV.

Hi there

I'm really sorry to learn of your circumstances.

Several points to be made. You have 4 options:

1. Pay someone to help you, i.e. mentoring coaching - pro's, motivating, will help you get back on track, will tell you exactly what you need to do etc. con's expensive

2. Use free marketing methods pro's free, not outgoings con's, won't get results quickly

3. Use google ad words - pros instant results, con's, no guarantees and when money has run out what then.

4. Look for alternative income. If you need money now and I mean now, I would urge you to either work part time or full time, work on this business whilst you have an income.

Whatever you decide, and if you do decide to look for an alternative income, DON'T see it as giving up. Because you're not. I set up a business 3 years ago, whilst working part time and looking after a 2 year old. It can be done. I have since sold the business and had extensive media exposure. It is harder, I'm not going to lie, but if you really want it, it will happen.

Exactly - too many try something once or twice and pronounce it a failure. Pcik one thing and become an expert at it then add more. One thing at a time.

Take action solidly for 2 weeks, or even only 1 week. You will liekly earn more in that 1 week than you do buying ebooks and course for an entire year. And you will make more money as well. The education and rewards you get by taking action are priceless.

	So, you want to sell me another way to easily make "X" dollars in "X" days? ROFL too funny! IM success requires hard work and lots of time. Most newbies do not survive the steep learning curve. Anyone who says otherwise is probably selling you a fantasy.
