Default 100k Views in 1 Video in 12 Hours on Youtube

Hey folks,

I have 280 comments and 40k views on a video I uploaded last night.... well it's pretty much exactly 9 hours ago now which is cool and I have had alot of people here and with messages in my inbox asking me exactly how.

Although i can't sell myself short in time and cash, i will try to answer some questions i have had posed to me. A poster here has highlighted many of the private questions i get pmed so heres my take on them.

1. How are you getting so many views in such a short period of time? Can you explain the process in detail?

Not in detail but if people keep asking me to make one I MIGHT do a wso detailing everything I do, in detail.
  • Are you utilizing Youtube's advertising platform?
no, but i have heard it converts well from people i know using it.
  • Where are you getting your videos? -Are you making your own, ripping them and/or buying/renting them from others?
I wouldn't bother taking copyrighted videos. Make your own spin on a popular wave of news or event, be current - i use After Effects and other video production suites so im not very restricted in what i can do.

If you rip videos, at least try to give a twist on them and remember the ultimate goal is to get them to complete and offer so keep that in mind by adding directions at the end of the video.

Get yourself an iflip and see what YOU can create?
  • Are you promoting your video and/or channel page with any SEO techniques? If so, what are you doing, specifically?
Yes SEO is certainly involved, you can go deep into it, the fundamentals to a youtube video with regards to SEO are similar to a website with a few differences obviously.

Do social bookmarkingalso, like Digg, Reddit etc too - might get picked up and every little helps!

Don't expect to make a video, upload it and think you will get views, there are plenty of great videos on youtube with no views.
  • Are you using any software/automation techniques for anything? If so, what are you using and for what purpose?
Depends whether you want to really go for it, Article marketing robot, senuke - theres a few.
  • Are you driving traffic to your video in any other way(s) (e.g. social networks/media, forums, yahoo answers, classifieds and/or other free traffic sources etc. etc.)? If so, what are they?
If its a good video, all you need to do for a boost is get somew people to pick it up. Do a few twitter posts if you like - can't do any harm but it's not massive. I sometimes use ezine articles if its a possibility, depending on the niche that canme get a shed load of traffic.
  • Are you doing anything, in particular, with regard to keywords, title and/or video thumbnail?
Title has to be clever and so does the image. It doesn't matter if you have the best, funniest, most educaztional and informative video ever made, if you don't get people to view it - what's the point?

As the ultimate goal is to get them to click through to your offer, don't decieve them either. If you have a video of a cat playing piano then instead of just saying " cat playing piano" say "Piano Playing Cat Related To Picasso"?

That's just a quick example but you get the idea, spend a bit of time on it - it will be worth it.

Same with the image - if you can use something obscure that stands out whilst remaining relevant then go for it.
  • Are you doing anything tricky; like increasing your own view count, commenting on your own videos and/or purchasing traffic to boost your video etc.?
I don't buy traffic to the videos but i do rate and comment. Ensure you sstay on youtube and watch a few other videos on the account, don't log in - go to your video and then log out after you are done on it because your video then becomes and exit page.

Not concrete but if your video turns off viewers to leave youtube, i don't think it will be a video youtube promotes in any way.

2. Have you been able to monetize your traffic? If so, how?

Depends on the video.

From the first video I made, i have learnt a hell of alot of techniques but also learnt to think about demographics befor ei upload a video. Even if you get 1m views, if your call to action is awful or 0 then what is 1m x 0?

Link in the video description is first thing i have in there. Annotations in the video telling them about the link. End the video with a screen directing them to the link and why they should do so, what's the benefit for THEM?

You can also use the back end of youtube to tell you where to put the annotations and where people are dropping off, if the are going to leave your video try to make sure it is via your link.

You can now get links at the bottom of videos, on your own video and - guess where else? Your competitors video. Yup - a link on your competitions website - back to yours. Something worth using.

Youtube is a massive beast and something you should get to grips with now rather than later and hopefully this should help you get started as well as allow you to see the potential this monster has if used correctly. I am sure you can appreciate i am not going to give everything i know away for free, but this isn't too bad for a forum post now is it?

Steve

thats cool 40k views in 9 hours. Awesome. I think u should add a arrow or something in the video which tells the visitor to look at the description. Adding links in the video might be useful. I havent tried it but just some suggestions.. Btw how do you find such videos ?

How do u get so many views and comments in such a short space of time?

I use Youtube a lot for my CPA campaigns. I use feature rich content and try to make the ads as professional as possible. I can say that i made $240 in about 4 weeks on one campaign that was very very popular in the media. It got 27k views on Youtube. It was about $2-3 dollars payout per conversion.

I really am no expert on this Youtube thing. I put a lot of work into each video I do and results vary. I make about $3-$9 per day (sometimes more) but feel i should really be making more because of the effort I put in. often I get accused by Youtubers of making videos that are "fake" ie they think my videos are trying to immitate the manufacturers videos but all I am doing is making them very high quality and using royalty free footage.

Make your videos as original as possible.
Use a domain name redirect on the offer
- Use a youtube username that matches the offername
- Look at the titling of other videos in the genre and use similar words.
- The filename of the video should be the same as your primary keyword
- Edit your user channel by removingthe default layout and customising it. Stripout al
the junk and just leave the video links, Homepage link and maybe subscriber links.
When people get to your channel all you want them to see is your video(s) and url
link with no oher distractions.

- leave comments on videos that have been recently submitted that have high
viewership.

- Dont know what to say? Then read oher peoples comments then use those as a
basis even if you dont knowwhat you are talking about. it will get you more views
especially if you have intereststing username. Just tell people to view your channel
as u cant leave links

- Use Tubemogul to submit videos
- Want a particular thunbnail to be used by Youtube? U just have to keep submitting
until it picks upthe one you want. You can select it with Tubemogul but it doesnt
follow through when it eventually gets to Youtube. So if u want a particular
thumbnail I would submit direct to Youtube.

That's an impressive number of views. Are they targeted, or of an age group that match your offer?

That will affect click throughs.

If you got 40,000 views and 380 comments in 9 hours, you're in the
top 0.01 % of YT marketers. I'm surprised you're after help on CTR
tips, as you're pretty much owning YT with those figures in that
time scale.

There's no mention of your current CTR to gauge whether it's
good , bad or ugly. Your CTR may well be quite good depending
on how targeted the video is etc.

In regards CTR on YT is down to the basics.

Ensure you have a call to action, both visual and audibly, ensure it's
at the beginning which is when people often open a new window to
see what you have to offer whilist watching the video.

Ensure it's also made at the end, ensure your URL is in the video
the entire time.

Ensure your URL is short, snappy easy to remember.

Put 20 seconds of blank at the end with the URL in it.

Use annotations to encourage them to take your preferred call to action.

Targeting of content to demographic.

Ensure in the description area your URL is first, otherwise it get's cut off.

If you're feeling sneaky make a video response under a different
account commenting on the site people get to from your video
and how much you like it .

You might like to help the Warriors out in the thread by explaining
some of what you're doing to achieve those numbers, I've not
seen em before in relation to IM driven activities.

Agreed. You are owning youtube with those stats! Buddy, I would love to know more about how you did this. Care to share?

And it's true, views convert at a low rate because a lot of viewers just click on and then click off pretty quick. We all do this when we're surfing youtube, just the nature of the beast, there.

But as for traffic, you have got that down to a tee. I would love to know how you do it. I was using some seriously flawed tactics with youtube that I quit. Now I'm doing other things that are working so I never got back to it.

An easy way to get more traffic from youtube (kind of) is to add an image of your domain name to the video.

You won't get direct traffic from the video but people will most likely type the url into their address bar and find your site.

The most important question is how you are promoting your CPA offer? Is it mentioned at the end of the video, in the video, as a text slide in the video, just in the description, both, or what?

I have found that working a a cpa "sales pitch" into a video will dramtically increase clickthrough. Are you boosting videos that are already out there?

Hopefully I/we can help after knowing some of these!!

Also, are you driving them to a landing page? Basically What I do (very sneaky) Is i create a controversial video. Then, I view my own video a few hundred times. Not so much a good quality video as it is controversial. I just created a video that basically trashers ricers and foreign cars. At the end i have a call to action and i basically get the viewer to visit the landing page, in this case the company's landing page is okay, but for most products, just driving them to a well done landing page on your actual website is much better.

Thats amazing! I was stoked with my 150 views in 24 hours(pretty competitive niche) but now i'm feeling a little jealous. I am getting a 15% signup rate to my offer but if I had your views with my conversions I would feel like Scrooge McDuck (everyone loves rolling around in money, right?). Any and all tips are greatly appreciated!

Seems like a lot of us here are wondering how you have done this. This is really amazing but the question is if you are funneling them to your offer or you are merely serving them entertainment. Youtube, after all, is made up of people looking to pass the time by viewing videos. Do you get them interested in your offer? If not, then you may not be monetizing the traffic you are getting.

This is the tricky beast of YT marketing. Getting people to stop what they are doing to check out your offer. That is why you have to make the sales pitch very subtle and make it entertainment in its own right!

I think that depends upon how you cast your rod. They'll automatically check out your offer if they were looking for you to begin with.

Hey guys,

Sorry to "tumbleweed" my own thread - i've been extremely busy with some other more serious editing and clients to check back.

There is a bit of a procedure i follow when i do it, as you can see in the second post i made there was 100k views in about 13 hours. The other 2 videos i uploaded at the same time have about a total of 60k views combined at the moment so i cant gurantee anything will go viral - some things just stick.

its 1:30 am and im getting some sleep - if you want to post "specific" questions then ill try to answer. Maybe i could make a video and get one to go "viral" live? Depends on time and if its something people would wanna see - might be cool but anyway - here to help so fire away!

I think simply how you're getting the views to come in? I've followed courses which tell you to use a keyword heavy title and copy tags etc, yet I still only get a few views. I can't seem to get past 300 views in the opening day.

That is a great point. I think this is probably a little more relevant for traditional affiliate products, but CPA offers to. I'm sure there are people searching for "where can i get acai for free' on YT.

In general, I think the primary use of YT is entertianment though so your sales message needs to be a little creative!

[QUOTE=jayesser;2039901]How do u get so many views and comments in such a short space of time?

I use Youtube a lot for my CPA campaigns. I use feature rich content and try to make the ads as professional as possible. I can say that i made $240 in about 4 weeks on one campaign that was very very popular in the media. It got 27k views on Youtube. It was about $2-3 dollars payout per conversion.

Let me know if you need any CPA offers - I work with a lot of video marketers and could recommend some good CPA offers that payout much more then $3 and should convert for you.

Video is great but hard to get the views talked about here but I have seen it !

What's up Luke!

Would you be willing to share with us which offers work best with video traffic. I will admit that I normally throw a dart between "fun and entertaining" type offers to decide which ones I promote.

My guess would be that its more the marketing message in the video that is important than the actual offer, but maybe you have better insight!

  • Where are you getting your videos? -Are you making your own, ripping them and/or buying/renting them from others?
  • What kind of videos/content are you using? -Movie/game trailers, UFC/sports, celebrity, news, other current/buzz events etc.?
  • Are you promoting your video and/or channel page with any SEO techniques? If so, what are you doing, specifically?
  • Are you using any software/automation techniques for anything? If so, what are you using and for what purpose?
  • Are you driving traffic to your video in any other way(s) (e.g. social networks/media, forums, yahoo answers, classifieds and/or other free traffic sources etc. etc.)? If so, what are they?
  • Are you doing anything, in particular, with regard to keywords, title and/or video thumbnail?
  • Are you doing anything tricky; like increasing your own view count, commenting on your own videos and/or purchasing traffic to boost your video etc.?
2. Have you been able to monetize your traffic? If so, how?
  • What kind of offers are you using?
  • What are your conversion rates?
  • Are you directing traffic to a landing page or direct-linking?
  • Where are you putting your link(s)? -In video, annotation and/or comment box?
Please, don't feel obligated to answer all of these questions (I also omitted some of my original questions).

Thank you.

Dude If you can get even 20K views a day on most of your videos I'll give you a thousand bucks a day. Seriously. I have a website that could make a TON of money off of this stuff, much more so than any website discussed here. Actually the site already makes more than that, of course i'd like to make more though.

Let's see who is the smartest Google searcher and can find the video.

I bet someone could.

Though I'm finding it difficult to do a negative allintitle: search so it's not helping me find it.

I hope your not using a bot, they only work for so long until Youtube crashes down on them. Anyhow good luck, and congrats.

Is this an original video?

Hmmm, I'm tempted to call BS on this...just saw a post that was made only 10 days before this one...

If anyone is willing to show me how to get these kinda views within 10 days I'd be more than happy to pay for the advice :-)

So what does that say about what i found that week?

What does that say about me being excited by the success of what i found by posting here right away and sharing with everyone?

If you are so willing to call bs on something you have no idea about, then perhaps that says more about you than it does me?

I could have posted my screeny and then left, but i stuck around and tried to give as much advice as i could without selling myself short.

The guy looking for my fingerprint on this thread is EXACTLY why I can't give too much detail, people take advantage and they always will do.

I know how to be over 50 times more likely to get a video ranked in the organic search on Youtube and remember Youtube is the 2nd largest search engine on the internet.

Please don't assume to know what I know then pretty much call me a liar.

Steve

I think the problem is Steven that you didn't really share anything apart from a couple of screen shots.

Fun to see, but ultimately doesn't help anybody actually do something similar in their own niche.

Ultimately , this is what tends to happen when you're posting on a forum full of people looking for techniques, not screen shots of stats.

I think most of us can understand why you don't want to give "to much " away but you're have to accept ultimatley the thread doesn't really help very much so you're going to get some meh feedback.
