Default My first ever CPA - spent 70, made 165 but need input here

First of all, I've spent about 70$ on facebook ppc, and my results so far are about 165$. My lead rate is just under 10%. Are these good, average or below average results?

So, my question is simple, is this a campaign I should keep running, is my lead rate to low so I should work more on my ad?

I'm also curious about Facebook targetting, if my ad is good enough is it really any point i working on targetting? The cpa is really for everyone and I doubt gender, age etc has anything to do with who buys or not.

If you spent $70 and made $165 in revenue, then thats a great campaign. Raise your daily budget... I wouldnt do too much split testing since youre pretty profitable right off the bat

Budget might be the biggest problem then, this affiliate pays 2 months late, and I just can't afford to spend that much money for 2 months
Thanks for the reply, seems I'm doing something right then (and it seems that facebook actually does work in some cases).

Another question though, in this campaign I link directly to the affiliate link and so I'm not able to build a list. Can't really see away around this either due to affiliate tracking etc, anyone got suggestion? Only thing I thought about was just copying the landing page, sending the info to me and manually fill in the info at the affiliate landing page (trough a proxy or something). There's probably a better way I guess?

Nah, forget the campaign. Just tell me what you were doing and walk away!

Just playing, of course keep the campaign. Too many people focus on ROI, when they should be focusing on profit! You are making good profit and a good ROI so you have no reason to stop.

You can and should keep testing until you eventually feel like youve exhausted teh testing phase. Only then should you sit back with your feet up and bask in the glory. But, yes I am a huge fan of always testing and always optimizing.

Try and figure out WHY your campaign works and replicate with different offers.

Hope you are on to something good buddy!

Hey Jeffdonk,

I couldn't agree more with these guys. And nice work getting that kind of ROI with Facebook PPC. I know A LOT of people who have tried Facebook PPC and just gave up because the bid prices were inflating so fast. But if you have a campaign making that kind of return, you may want to consider creating something (a blog w/ an opt-in, for example) that will allow you to optimize that campaign (and future campaigns in that niche!).

You can easily create a blog and load it with great, original content and start building a list. That is what I have done with a few of my campaigns. I realized that they were converting really well and I was making a great ROI, so I decided to start a content blog, developed a free report/process that I would give away w/ opt-in, and within the report I would make one of the steps of the process going to my offer and filling out the form.

I was never misleading anyone, and not only were they able to complete what they were already trying to do, faster, but they were also saving money while they did it. So if I were you, I would start a blog in that niche and try to get as many people to the offer as possible. And it sounds like a "buyer" audience, so you definitely want to get their email addresses to maximize the value of the customer. Hope that helps though!

Best of Luck,

An excellent campaign - if you are using facebook ads the best thing you can do is play around a little with your ad picture, I find that using text, smiling people and one big red arrow (while all very cheesy effects) increase your CTR - but you've struck a winner with that return, keep putting what money you can into it. I would re-invest in that campaign in a heartbeat!

Cheers,
Bruce

Sounds like you're off to a great start! Like Kenster said, "Try and figure out WHY your campaign works and replicate with different offers."

You're getting great results for a beginner. Now, try to optimize your campaign. You can split-test some ads, create 2 or 3 landing pages and, of course, increase your budget (if you spent $70 and made $165, spend $200 and see what happens), etc...

Talk to your CC company
Talk to your bank
Talk to the Aff network (if you have to stop to promote their offer, they are losing money too!)

I am not from the US, so I don't know how the company's will react on your request. But in The Netherlands, It's no problem

Well....in 99% of all cases I would agree with you, but....never change a winning team...

For example one of my first websites was made with xsitepro en later modified with Dreamweaver. Now it's full of small errors. The allignment is not so great, a lot of CSS errors, spelling is....nah...but it converts like crazy!! People who are "experts" tell me to fix it, add more content or rebuild it from scratch. I am #1 on G. for a lot of phrases, it converts.....so I leave my baby the way it is.

You have got a winner!! Anything over 100% ROI is great. Not many get a profitable campaign in the beginning.

Good work, that converts very well.

You've gotta try a bigger budget to see if it will scale.

If cash flow is the problem, perhaps try JVing with someone experienced on here, they may hold your hand through the campaign for a cut of the profits?

Keep slit testing and keep optimizing. When you think you are done, then do some more. There is always something you can test!!
