How to create affiliate network

Hi-
If anybody knows about any software to create and manage affiliate network something like Shareasale or CJ software that supports on-line marketplace where merchants and publishers can be connected to make money.

Most affiliate networks starting out use Direct Track as Frank said, it can be found at DirectTrack.com

I own a network that uses direct track. Looking back, I would have put the $10k into a custom solution from day one. People seem to buy DT for it's cross publishing abilities, but they have a downside to that too.

Keep in mind DT and other programs require upfront fees of about $1000 USD and a monthly subscription of about $50 USD. You would be well served to hire a dedicated team to assist on your side (your own company), because you cannot do everything yourself, such as negotiating with advertisers, pre-sales support, resolving technical issues with publishers, processing payments and refunds, the list is endless. This is not something that can be plugged in for immediate profits. It will take care and feeding to get the best results.

Remember, doing this means you are competing with other ad networks like those you mentioned, Shareasale, Commission Junction, Linkshare, and hundreds of others. What will you do differently? And why would new advertisers and new affiliates pick you instead of the others?

Yeah dude this is a big idea. I'm not trying to dash it but it takes a ton of work. But someone had to have started the biggies like CJ and CB and they probably started out with just a great desire to suceed.

You can get good programmers to get you the script.
You then have to get a good management team that will help you manage the things once it is rolling.

One thing is for sure that you might need a hefty budget for this one.
