What am I doing wrong with displaying banner ad for CPA offers?

I've bought a banner space at some girly site and first I've launched ecards, had 1k impression and no clicks, then tried those drawing offers 1k impression no clicks, now I'm trying to run hair removal for girls, again 1k impression no clicks! Is this normal or I'm doing something wrong? And is there a website like quantcast to check the visitors info etc, no alexa please! thank you!

Did you do market research first.? Seriously, in any case, 1k impressions is nothing. The industry standard click through rate is +- .1, meaning every 1 out of a 1000 will click an ad if you did your homework. Wait til you have 20k impressions, then make a judgement.

I don't do media buying, but I know that this is one of the most complicated paid traffic sources. There are many factors that may affect the prformance of your banners. If you're getting no clicks, probably you got a bad ad space or are not using the right colors and text.

After you figure out what's stopping you from getting clicks, you will need to determine what coverts well with your traffic, and maybe it won't be an easy task as well.

So, if you are just starting, you may want to consider something easier. If you go to TV202 and watch the interview with Charle Ngo you will find some nice tips. He explains very well why it's hard for beginners to get started with media buying and then tells how he used PPC before creating his first media buying campaigns.

Yhea if you had 1000 impressions with no clicks something's diffinitly wrong and not normal. And no one is going to be able to tell you what you doing wrong without seeing your Whole Campaign. And believe me when i say i had alot of issues when i started out with banners myself. One thing i can say for sure is if your doing banners make sure your using CPA offers with free trials, zip submits,etc. If your serious about banners, because if you do it right they can make you ALOT of money with the right offer. I am just trying to help ya out and not trying to sell ya anything but HTMBA(2nd link in Sig box) has ALL you need to know and WANT to know when it comes to banner ads and CPA Networks with video's for every step plus shows you how to Optimize your banners to it's Maximum potential plus gives you about 5 different CPA Networks to join. Dude what are you smoking, Click-through rates have dipped to 0.20% for average banners and to about 0.50% for rich media banners, and that's at a low for banner advertising. If you have a good offer with the right Creative, i've had some Ads get close to 0.75%. There are alot of tangibles with banner ads but once you know them it's by far the BEST way to make some Fat and Fast Cash! Find everything you need AT HTMBA(2nd link in Sig Box) Go there or Don't it doesn't matter to me but if U want to know the Ins and Outs of Banner Ads,you wont be dissapointed Trust Me!

I've tried changing few offers but still got only 5 clicks out of 5K impressions.. is this really bad?

Not as bad as getting 800,000 impressions but 7 clicks.
