Default When to press pause?

I would like to know when the experienced CPA marketer press pause?

What is the CTR to buying/action do you look at?

For example...I sent a test, 197 people to a free(one field) Ipad offer yesterday w/ their landing page(looked good) and got 0 to take action. Would you pause or ?

With affiliate marketing I use 100 to 1 maybe a little more depending on the product and the price point.

Thanks!

Wow, 0 in 197 is bad for a one field offer. Was the traffic targeted? If so, consider using a different offer!

197 clicks is always a good test... also the kind of traffic matters and how much you spend... CPM?, CPC, I mean you can have 2000 hits, make 3 conversions that makes you $6 and spend $4, that is a good stat.

I don't like dealing with those low stats, but if you like doing them and have found some great traffic spots then go for it.

Oh yah, and yes... targeted traffic always helps

Sounds like your getting scrubbed really hard by that advertiser, try a different similar offer.

Thanks guys for your replies.

I guess it all comes down to conversions. What advertisers have worked for you or what ones do you recommend using?

So far these are the ones I've used with zero results.
facebook
pleantyoffish
adwords
admob
adbrite
buysellads (sent 1600+ people to sign for a free dating site. Found out later all the traffic was from India)

Also, I have almost 40k people on my Twitter account. It drives a lot of traffic but again zero actions.

Also, I know you're not suppose to signup your self. How do you test any of the offers to make sure it is getting tracked/credited properly?

BTW the 197 clicks was a $50 gift card from Subway(through MaxBounty). I was going to post the offer but it has already expired.

That would explain it. The affiliate network was probably shaving like hell, so people were not seeing results and got away from it. Hence, the offer went bye bye.

On another note, 197 clicks is a good test for a low payout offer. For a higher payout cpa ($30 - $40 per action) I will usually spend up to 2X the payout of these offers. IF it doesnt convert, i dump and move on.
