Feeling discouraged?? Read this!

So I know many people out there are trying to get into CPA, but they get discouraged a quit because they think they "can't" do it. This is what I tell myself if I'm feeling discouraged for a second, IT'S THE INTERNET!! There is no limit to anything on the Internet and here are a few stats to prove that to you:

In 2009 there was 1.8 BILLION users online worldwide (26.6% of the WORLD population)
The number of user has increased 400% since 2000
There was estimated $156 BILLION dollars spent online in 2009 in the US alone.
Facebook has over 400 MILLION active users today.
In 2009 twitter had 18 MILLION users. Up from 6 million in 2008 and projected to be 26 MILLION in 2010
Estimated 234 MILLION websites as of the end of 2009
Estimated 126 blogs on the Internet
12.2 BILLION videos viewed per month on YouTube

I know its hard to completely understand the absolute massive amount of potential that is out there, but I hope this gives people the motivation to not give up when things get tough.

Also, this numbers are an estimate they could be off by a little, but you get the picture.

Sean you are EXACTLY right.

The internet is massive and thats why there is soo much opportunity. We are talking about only needing to capture a fraction of a fraction of a percent of a niche to have a huge payday.

The internet isnt soo profitable because its something nobody else is trying ot monetize. Its soo profitable because of its scale, its massive, its abundant.

If you are creative enough to carve out your own area, you are set, simple as that.

And thats why I have been fascinated with making money online...the potential is huge and still growing. Seize the opportunity guys and gals.

Nice research, Sean.

It proves that the hard step for beginners is the first one, when they need to figure out how to promote a product or offer. After that, it's all about scaling. When you learn how to convince one person to perform an action, you will have learned how to convice 1K+ people to do that.

There is no magic to make the way shorter and take somebody to the level of super affiliate in few days. However, I think that your numbers show that people are online and they are spending money, and anyone, even the newbiest guy, can learn how to make a living online. It's all about focus and persistence.

Hey

Here's another story that helps you in times of need: Mine!

I used to work in a bank doing graveyard shift and I was fighting tooth and nail to get out. When I got back from work I stayed up late, trying to figure out how to REALLY make a killing with CPA. After around 18 months of doing that grind I figured out that the trick to CPA is higher margins.

But the moral of the story is that you MUST keep trucking on, chipping away at that wall until it crumbles. I see so many people quit WAY too early. If you keep at it "just a bit longer" ... you will succeed.

All I say is "Battle of Britain" ... another few more months and the UK woulda been overrun. Luckily it didn't.

agreed. the bigger problem is staying focused. Too many ways to create revenue on the internet, at times it can be difficult to focus on a task. Often I want to try everything

That is so true....I think the only way is to unsubscribe to the may emails that we get in order to stay focussed..

The thing is, we tend not to do it beacsue we don't want to miss out on the so called..net big thing..

An example of that was the CB Wealth Formula launch last week..the thing is it was cr*p...

I have found there is far better, genuine products in the WF..

Very good post and so true! There's so much money to be made in the internet space.. you just gotta figure out where you fit into it. There are so many examples of people breaking into the industry and becoming extremely successful. It just takes some time, and some serious action and you can do it!!

It's happening every hour of every day. Making money online goes well beyond CPA marketing. There is really so much opportuntiy its exciting. Starting blogs, web sites, fan pages of things you like, services, consultation, web space, products...there are so many things you can do to make a killing online. I like to think of CPA as a little hidden gem, but the truth is that the scope of internet business is gigantic and dwarfs CPA.

If you dont know where to start, I always say start with what you are passionate about. If you are passionate about fishing, build a fishing blog or forum. If you are passionate about surfing, start a surfing site, or maybe a surfing product to help other out. My bet is that if you work your butt off and make out successful, both of those ideas can be gigantic money makers.

Hehe, Cost Per Action marketing....its a lead generation platform whereby we as CPA affiliates essentially 'sell' leads to advertisers which include big companies like Netflix and eHarmony and small no-name merchants.

sean, isnt it right that twitter now has over 100 million users or did i dream that? either way, we're all agreed that the numbers are collossal and frankly, unimaginable.

maybe thats whats so difficult for people to grasp, me included.

and maybe, thats why people get so distracted with all the gurus latest offerings or darent unsubscribe from somebodys list in case they miss the latest trick / product offering (that'll be me included once again

)

all we can do is take whatever action we can take, but reminding ourselves that we can spend more time DOING than the time we spend LEARNING.

knowledge in itself is no earthly use without the action to accompany it and that can be applied to any situation or circumstance that you care to mention.

I've seen people come from nothing to highly successful in a few months, it feels really good when I see this and it happens more often than people think, just many people are often quiet about it.

My favorite success story was from a parent who just had a horrible divorce, happily re-married with kids, having financial problems due to lack of work and a horrible ex-spouse. They just put there head down, listened to ALL advise giving and acted on what they thought would work and tested, tested, tested. They are now full time affiliate marketing and never made so much money in there life. Oh did I mention in the beginning they had next to no computer skills? Pretty amazing isn't it? With the right mindset and determination this can happen to almost anyone. Keep your head up!

Yes Chris, I love hearing phenomenal success stories like that.

My favorite is a guy who emailed me just a few weeks ago. He was from a third world nation, and from what I gathered he didn't have much. Due to the exchange rate, he said he just wanted an extra $15 bucks a day which would be equivalent to tripling his current income. He did some bum methods and was earning around $20 a day on average. He was very emotional because this amount has literally changed his and his familys lives.

Yes, there are people who start from scratch, and build a high 6 figure income or million dollar internet business within a year, but as was said earlier, success is relative.

Just look at the numbers in the original post....I get chills just thinking about all the opporuntity that still exists and will exist into the future

Give them value of some sort and the money comes. Its a very simple formula.

VALUE = MONEY

MORE VALUE = MORE MONEY

Everyone hit the nail on the head. Focus, focus, focus. Making money in this industry isn't easy - you have to have focus and discipline to make it happen.

The internet is definitely massive - there is plenty of room for as many focused affiliate marketers as the world holds.

I prefer to know how much USA,CA and UK % there
as I know China and India has the most population..lol
and its very hard to have them pull out their credit card..

anyway, thinking will change everyday.
internet used to be an info seeking place for me.
but now, i spend on it more than i pay for my meals
