Hi just a quick question.... I have been with Copeac since Oct 2009 but not promoted any offers yet because i am a newbie. Yesterday i updated a new web address and they want A copy of an identification card, Drivers license, or passport. Is this normal procedure? I have to fill in a new W-8BEN which is ok, but passport id ????? I live in the UK |

Passport is only one option - and can be used for identification. When you work with companies where money is involved, they follow the laws of your country and theirs and obtaining ID copy may be part of it. If the account has been dormant and then website is changed, that would be a logical reason to request valid ID to be certain it is you making the change. kay |

Hi Kay Yes that figures. But no documented ID was asked for when i first signed up, so it just seemed strange to ask me for it now. Thanks for the reply. Cindy |

The W8 form is completely normal. However, none of my networks asked for my passport, drivers license or identification card before... I think that it's because your account is dormant, after all, you changed just your web address... ![]() William |

You've been a newbie since Oct 2009? Time to get crankin and get out of the newbie status. haha Im only joking! I had to submit a scanned copy of my license for Peerfly. I admit I was a little hesitant at first, but I talked to them about it and they made me feel better about doing it. You'll be fine! Get that taken care of and ask all the questions you want on this forum to get the ball rolling for your CPA career. Good luck with everything! Sean |

Cheers Sean Yes i need to ditch the newbie haha. Have been online full time since Dec 2009 and didn't have a clue which way to turn when i started. Have been brain explosioned with info overload and have done a little bit of allsorts since then... and so confused at which way to progress. But i have learned loads and decided a few days ago to focus on CPA since joining WF which has really helped me focus. Great help on here!!! I am alone no more!! and thanks for the info. Cindy |

Rest assur ebig companies like Copeac you will have nothing to worry about . But keep in mind only send these kind of details to BIG networks that are trusted . Also , remember to give them a call , talk to them clear your doubts and that's it ! PS : yes it's normal for Copeac they are just doing it to prevent fraud . |

Yes cheers William, Sean and Mark. Just received phone call from Copeac explaining their procedure and basically I filled my original form in incorrectly and when i made a few changes yesterday they have to check for fraud. As you said Mark it shows they are a good company. Cindy |
