Problem with tracking202 url and LookSmart

Has anyone successfully direct linked to a promotion using Tracking202 and LookSmart.

Being new to this I finally got around to understanding the menu structure of LookSmart. I came to replace the LookSmart URL with the url from Tracking202 and now I get an error message saying: Destination URL must be US ASCII characters only. At least one of the characters you entered was a special character, such as an e with an accent or a trademark symbol.

This is the url I get from Tracking202

http://redirect.tracking202.com/dl/81590421?t202kw={keyword:default}-{feed}

Can anyone tell me what is wrong and is there a way around this?

I am not having much joy with getting my CPA offer from MaxBounty working.

Hello David,

This is very odd...

I have never had a problem adding 202 links in to looksmart and they are always formatted exactly like yours.

Are you copying it directly from the 202 interface and then pasting into the looksamart destination url box?

All I can say is very strange...

try typing it manually into the destination box. Check to make sure the link works though before you submit it (just in case you typed something wrong.

What may have happened is that you cut and pasted the url and somewhere in there was a non US ASCII character - it may have been as simple as a space at the end or something. Or, perhaps since you are in the UK, you are using a different keyboard with some other characters?

When we tried cutting and pasting the url from your post here, there actually wasn't an problem - the forum may have gotten rid of the space, or there could be another issue at play. In any case, I would suggest manually typing in the url you received from Tracking202 to see if that works. If not, or if you have any additional questions, our customer service team would be more than happy to assist you - 877-512-5665.

Thanks for all your replies. The problem of accepting the tracking link as shown above seems to have gone away and the link is accepted now. I don't know that I have done anything differently.

I had only just started to use Tracking202 and have since decided to install Prosper202 and so I am getting to grips with that. I am getting results in LookSmart and can see keyword and ads info. In prosper however I cannot see the keyword directly and can see a number that ties in with Keyword shown in LookSmart's table of results. The one piece of information I am missing totally is the feed.

Can anyone who please advise on this problem?
