Default CPA Flyer Marketing Blueprint

I was browsing the web today and stumbled across something that is totally new to me... "postering" services. Basically what a postering service does is take your flyers and post them on signposts, telephone poles, windows, bulletin boards, etc. all over a city. This is something you could easily do yourself for free if you live in a big city... but what if you don't?

Here's a simple and relatively cheap idea for you to try:
1. Find a CPA free-trial offer that pays about $30+ per lead. Weight loss, health supplements, education and teeth whitening are great ones that appeal to a wide audience.

2. Set up a simple landing page with an AWeber subscribe form that leads the customer to the CPA offer after the form is submitted. Blogger works great for this and is free.

3. Design an eye-catching, half-page black & white flyer with pull-tabs containing your URL. Use bit.ly to create a shortened link or buy your own domain. (Ex: WhiterTeeth4U.com) You can use Word to create the flyer. Make sure it speaks to the potential customer and offers a solution to a problem that they have.

4. Print two on one sheet at home then make 50 copies at Kinkos. Cut the sheets in half then cut the pull-tabs. Kinkos has large paper cutters and scissors you can use. If you pull a couple of tabs off yourself it will make people more likely to take one because they think others have done the same, hehe.

5. Choose a big city (San Francisco, LA, New York, Chicago) and find a postering service there. Ship your flyers to them and have them posted around the city.
So, could you turn a profit? Let's say 1 in 5 of your flyers converts a single person. That's 20 conversions at $30 for a total of $600. 50 copies at Kinkos costs about $1.50. A Priority Mail flat rate envelope to ship your flyers is $4.90. Postering service for 100 half-page flyers in San Francisco (Thumbtack Bugle) costs $45. If you don't already use AWeber, you can get your first month for just $1.

Total cost: $52.40
Total profit: $547.60!

Not too shabby for only 1-2 hours of work on your part. And, on top of that, because of the AWeber form, you've been building an email list of people that you KNOW are interested in similar products in the future.

Even if the worst case happens and you only get 2 conversions it has paid for itself. Hope this gives you some ideas and helps gets your gears turning.

Would you then post your results here, if you go for this?
Thanks!

Excellent! I'm interested to see the results. I may give this a try in my town tomorrow also.

The cool part about using the postering service is that you can outsource the grunt work and even test conversion rates in different cities. The postering services are often run by bike courier companies, many of which take great pride in their work.

How do you get people to post in large cities? Say, you live in L.A and want your CPA flyers to be posted in Time Square NYC? Is there a service to ship people your flyers and hire people to post them on walls?

so when was the last time you looked at a flyer and wrote the url on your hand or notepad you took the tab from flyer and went home and typed URL in and had a look at the site?

If you haven't done it then why do you think others will do.

This all sounds great in theory but in reality it doesn't.

Look for "flyer distribution", "postering service" or "flyer handout" on Google. Another idea is to post a gig on Craigslist looking for people to hand out flyers. I'd be especially careful about where you post flyers in New York City though, they're pretty strict about it. I noticed that many of the coffee shops, grocery stores and restaurants in NYC had bulletin boards where you can post flyers though.

I can't remember the last time I clicked on a banner ad for a free teeth-whitening trial either.

The purpose of this forum is for sharing ideas with other marketers. Perhaps they will adapt it and come up with a great idea of their own.

It is much harder to target an audience in this approach, but I am also interested in hearing about the results.

Best of Luck!

Another idea is to spend time on upcoming event sites and sites selling tickets.

Look for upcoming events in certain areas that's going to be huge. Then you target flyers to those audience by hiring flyer passers to give them out in a crowd.

Sounds good in theory, but you think that will work?

Have done this in NYC and smaller cities around where I am.

It works

Not interested in doing anymore because the work/reward isnt of value to me at this point, but flyer marketing does work its just a royal pain in the butt to implement and scale effectively.

Good for newer marketers, and is a good way to show whether you have the will and desire to succeed...particularly if you are the one putting in the sweat to do a large scale flyer campaign. Classic CPA Bootstrapping

I went through my options of health, wealth, and relationships today. A lot of you probably know I own a dating product already and I could use that, but I think I need a product that will appeal to a wide range of different personalities, genders, etc. for this to work. Health/weight loss was an option, but if I go with a postering service there is no guarantee they will put the flyers somewhere where a lot of overweight frequent.

With that said I'm settling on Biz opp niche, since so many people believe its a recession still and are acting like they're broke. I bought a 52 week autoresponder now I just have to get a brandable domain and my flyers made.

So for tomorrow I have to get a domain, design flyers, do research on what cities I want to do this with. I also have to load my autoresponder and edit the messages with affiliate links to CPA products.

I'll keep you all updated.

I haven't decided yet. There are some good services I see in San Fran and NYC. Tomorrow's task is to get quotes for about 20k flyers. Is that too little flyers?

I would start testing small, either online testing ad copy or offline doing a much smaller scale split test. Scale up after that once you have a better converting flyer. Just a thought!

Saturated in my area already. Try local colleges for "make money" or "dating" advertisements.

My best conversions were at colleges by far. Very hungry crowd and looking for anything free. If you can find a good offer with no cost to consumer, Golden!

Plus, colleges have ample flyer space!
