Default Want to start Facebook campaign. Best place for ad images?

I've been dabbling with this and that trying to learn the general ropes of IM, CPA, PPC, etc. However, I think I've got to the point where I understand the basics and am ready to start working on full blown campaigns.

For now I'm going to focus solely on Facebook. Where is the best place to get images for ads? Places like Flickr tell you to give credit to the photographer, which would be lame on an ad.

Are there any good free and/or paid sources for images for ads. Free would be better. I know there is iStockPhoto but that seems like overkill. Thoughts?

Hi ajensen,

i had a very small dabble at a facebook campaign, and i found that the Clip-Art type images and less professional images get the most clicks for whatever reason.

In regards as to where to get these, i would recommend Bing's image search engine or Googles recently updated there image engine which may be worth a look.

Let me know what you think, it may be worth getting thoughts from other more experienced marketers in this field as i am just starting myself, but i hope i have shed some light on things for you.

Good Luck!

The problem is that most images provided by Bing and Google are copyright protected. First, using them is illegal. Second, many advertisers say explicitly that it's not allowed to use this type of image to promote their offers.

Well I was coming into this thread to give a list of stock photo sites - but I've been beaten to the punch!

Nice list - stock photo sites are a great place to get images from that won't get you into trouble.

Everyone I've talked to just swipes them from Google Images.

It's a rare chance you'll get in trouble, because you blow through ads so fast anyway. The worst they can do is tell you to remove the ad.

I created a "full-blown" Mafia Wars campaign and used Mafia Wars in the title. Zynga kindly asked me to remove the website and anything related, that was it.

I would agree - I've never had any issues either.

I always tell people to start out with the stock image sites though just because a lot of people are afraid of getting in trouble - and rightfully so with the FTC looking hard at our industry right now.

you can pick up stock photo images at Image-Reseller >> Home
and NOT have to include any credit links. You just can't claim
copyright to the images.

They have a free 25 image package to look at and other
paid packages for just a few dollars.

Wrong. I've used many of them before and they were all free. They are terrible pictures, and worthless IMO, but nevertheless still free. To get any of the decent pictures you have to pay, but everyone has their upgrade!

Bing has images? Yeah really, no one is going to come after you for using a Google image unless you have it up for YEARS. The FTC has way bigger fish to fry than small affiliate marketers.

Yeah I second this and Coop's comments. You'll usually be fine here, but yeah to be on the safe safe safest side, get stock images, etc. One thing I will say regardless of where you ultimately get your images, learn how to 'pimp' em, take the ordinary and make them pop!

Thank you........GOOGLE MOST DEFINITELY......why go through the trouble of anywhere else? And if your not completely happy with the google image or whatever......well then photoshop it! works every time!
