Celebrity Sites & CPA

I have a good bit of celebrity domains. I also read the book from Kenster and how he talked about the predicting method where you predict if a person is going to be famous and once they do you have good free traffic.

Well ive done that a couple times over before reading the book, but I'm stuck with about 15 or more celebrity domains getting from 500-3000 visitors per day.

I tried ringtones with the music artist and then I have other sites that are famous comedians. I just don't know what will convert or maybe I'm approaching them wrong with the offers. HELP!!

Any ideas or things that worked in the past with music artist or is it better with email list, (i have those) or banners on the site or direct text link.

Do you have any idea what demographic is visiting these sites? Mostly female would be my initial guess but i could be wrong...

One of the sites is for a rap group their in the age of 18-23 (there are 3 of them in the group) and their audience is urban youth from ages 14-28 would be their audience. women and men. Anything else I can let you know just tell me and I will provide the information

The other is a black comedian who has a big following on Twitter.

I also have some fashion sites based around a big watch/shoe brand and would like to try some CPA offers with them. If you have any ideas for that.

You might want to keep trying ringtones and get a bit creative. I've ran ads on celeb sites that sound like yours for ringtones, but it took quite a while to get the offer right. Conversions pretty much suck with ringtones, so you have to get everything right to make it work well.

Otherwise, think about your traffic as not just celeb traffic but entertainment. Might want to try email submits for the Droid, or gaming offers. You can get real creative and run an incent offer to unlock celebrity pics. I bet you'd get crazy high conversions on something like that.

Otherwise, do some research and see what similar sites are promoting and what other sites those people are visiting. There are a handful of reliable tools out there that can give you that info.

If you want to do it right and be a ninja... throw some AdSense ads up on your site and watch what advertisers stick around, and bingo.

thanks good stuff. I do have an incent offer on the mixtape/music downloads page and it does decent conversions.

quick questions as far as the droid and entertainment type offers. Would you include them in email updates or throughout articles on the site? and how would you present them as FREE gifts or what? Because I have them on their through email updates and the conversion is horrible so far.

Depends what the goal of your site is and what's going to make you the most money. You could do a hover-over with a quiz. Dynamically insert the celebs name on the quiz based on the page their viewing. When they complete the quiz, they get a "congrats, you qualify for an ipad" or whatever (just an idea). But that'll may hurt your opt-ins (may not though), so just depends on what lead is more valuable to you.

As far as the 'free' goes... that can work but you have to be careful because if the quality of traffic your sending to the offer is bad, you'll get kicked off. That might not sound like a big deal, but if you're in this for the long haul, networks and AMs give preferential treatment to the guys the can rely on to send quality traffic, and a good reputation worth building.

Do whatever you have to do to stay compliant, send good leads and make the most money per a visitor to your site.

1. Split-test: test different ideas, use different offers and see what converts well.

2. Spy: visit similar sites and see what people are promoting. Don't hesitate to copy their ideas if they seem to be performing well.

3. Be creative: Chad gives a very good example in his Conversion University course. He shows how I guy connected a celebrity (I think it was a singer, but I'm not sure) with Zwinky (the "create your cartoon" offer). The idea was to create a simple quiz that people should answer to see if they are real fans of the celebrity. Once they finish the quiz, they have the chance to join an online fan club, but to do it it's advised that they create their own cartoon, since most members use their cartoons. You're not incetivizing, since the person can join without the cartoon, you're just saying that it's funnier to use the cartoon. Creativity.

remember I said its a "RAP" group unless one of the Brothers has a rap song I don't know about hahaha

On the flip side...if that's the main demographic hitting your page and you have a nice steady amount of traffic coming in on a daily basis you may want to reach out to this ad-network...they specialize in serving ad's to the African community....just another possible way to generate some income through the website...

Azoogle, Mundo Media, COPEAC, I know EWA has jumped in and mention they have a ton of offers as well...something like fun mobile main carriers which is a very popular offer for the ringtone niche...

Also Offer Vault is very good tool to use.

It's really hard to say without knowing the celeb, demographics, niche, etc..

its coming from Twitter...but mostly organic Google traffic i have .com's and .org's so they rank 1st page. Most have less than one post on them.
