Jeremy - you are absolutely right.

The facinating thing to me is that its possible to take slower and steadier (and safe) road to your online business. Sure you can go into huge media buying to start and you will need significant capital up front. But, starting off with free traffic and then re-investing and re-investing into bigger and better things is also very possible and is actually what I did.

I think the important concept is not that much risk is a necessary component of building a CPA business/income online but rather that in order to get to the super leagues, much investment and re-investment is needed. Sure this is very much risky at certain points in time, but in the grand scheme of your business and to get to the point where you are throwing around many zeros of "risk" in a given day/week/month you can do so in a very controlled and minimal risk way.

I guess my point is this -- you can make money online and 'good' money online without risking a whole lot, at least monetarily. But to take it to the next level...to the super-affiliate level, there will be more risk and more reward. Its the traditional risk reward pendulum.

My philosophy when coming online was this -- work my butt off and put everything I make back into my business. I personally wasn't interested in making an extra $50 a day for play money, I was interested in building a business. To that end, my philosophy was re-invest and reinvest and continue to reinvest what I had earned. I don't even know how long it was before I purchased my first reward from my efforts.

Each prong of the internet marketing web will have its own unique risk/reward pendulum and own unique risks, but like any business, there will always be risks and costs...perhaps just time or opportunity cost.

For one, its almost always impossible to have a 100% accurate step-by-step or paint-by-numbers guide because there is much subjectivity in most campaigns.

But you are absolutely correct, if you gave many people all the puzzle pieces and some extra hints and said told them they have all the pieces to the puzzle, now go and put them together, most people would still fail. If you have ever done a puzzle, you know it takes time. The puzzle gets easier as you put more and more pieces together but its a pain in the butt when you are starting.

Im the kind of person that would lock myself in a room for 3 days and eventually put the puzzle pieces together to form the puzzle.

Like a puzzle, things get easier as you progress along. Almost everybody on this forum has enoguh knowledge to do pretty big things online its a matter of grinding out and making something happen with that knowledge. Its about action, not about learning the next hto method.

You make some excellent points there. I mean the 10 minutes cant hurt but I think the real point you are getting at is that the powers within each of us is more a determinant of success than any pieces of information.

And that is absolutely true. Yes a CPA gazillionaire can give you some really great tips, but if you've been trying internet marketing for a few months and not seen any result at all, then the tips may be valuable but it wont mysteriously turn you into a CPA winner.

Not that I'm willing to risk it, but my bet is that if I or anybody else laid a videotape of exactly how we created and built a successful campaign, that most people watching the video wouldnt be able to replicate it nearly to success that its capable of, if at all. When people reach an obstacle, their first reaction is to...

-Quit
-Find software to get around it
-Move onto another method
-Complain that it doesnt work anymore

Thats not the answer. When you hit an obstacle, you need to work twice as hard.

True story...Friday night I was trying to build out something CPA related. I got stuck about 8pm on a night I was supposed to go out with a few friends. I was so determined to finish the project that I ended up staying home, drank a red bull, and cranked away until 5:30am when I finally finished. The point isnt that I want to toot my own horn...I dont...I want those who are struggling to dig deep down and find that drive to take action and keep implementing and be a relentless CPA b-tard!

Of course I dont mean to generalize here. Just trying to kick some butts into top gear.

If I had 10 min, I would ask to schedule 4 30min sessions where he will either critique my currently running campaigns or let me watch him create one from scratch.

Then I'd chain him to a chair in my office until he signs over all his money to me.
