We have a biggest profit day, just curious what is everyone's worse loss day (how much have you lost in one day).. We've all done it.. I remember one day I lost a few thousand in a matter of minutes because I had google as a keyword in one of my cpv campaigns targets. lol |

I it was $600 or $700 in one day on a campaign I forgot to turn off since I went on a trip and I knew it was far from profitable.

$900 in one day, $6000 over 2 weeks for the same campaign. Lesson learned: Don't trust a rep as much as data, no one cares about your money as much as you. lol, that's why I'm huge on telling people to have their thresholds in place! Luckily I was still very profitable for the month, still stupid though! |

Since I'm still a little lower on the totem pole, my $120 loss doesn't seem like much compared to some of the other answers :-p

It's an interesting question. LOSS refers to something we did and got nothing in return for. If the question is how much change in our bank accounts (for the negative) one day due to CPA marketing, thats a completely different question. I have rolled out a few large testing campaigns at one time and lost a very sizable amount, as most campaigns bleed for a while before you can optimize enough to turn black. These days were certainly 'losses' in terms of changes in my bank account, but its a hard distinction between whether this was a true loss or an investment. Many campaigns fail and you never earn the money back but others turn around and end up being consistent winners. Much like R&D. If a company rolls out a substantial R&D test in the pharma industry, they may lose 100's of millions in a month, but is it really a "loss" per se? Let's just say I have woke up some mornings and had the wind knocked out of me on certain occassions. |

I still don't entirely consider it a loss, but I burnt 22K by having a VA make a mistake on a CPA offer a few years back, I set the budget to 22000 instead of 2200. But I spent a few days after the loss drilling through the keyword and geo ip data. I have been a full time SEO for a long time now and I ended up taking over the local search rankings for the identified terms in various US cities, I also took over the first page of Google for all of those terms which obviously helped. At the end of the day that 22K loss was turned into just over $322K in 90 days, Nothing is a total loss in IMKT, it's just how you look at it and the skills you have under your belt. | |
