I am really having some trouble with Prosper202 (I'm using Tracking202, self hosted). I've watched all the videos many times, but I still have questions that the forum doesn't seem to respond to. Anyway, I'm hoping I'll be among like-minded people now that I've found this forum. I would like to fix my issues with Prosper202, because I really put alot of work into it. Not sure if the free version of Bevo I'm reading about here would do the same things or be as secure? I'm not ready to pay a high monthly subscription fee yet, but if the free version was decent I'd be up for it. Anyway, my current problem is that on my first MSN adgroup I just set up, I have only one impression, and one click. On Tracking202, I have 71 additional clicks showing from IP address 8.6.118.75, which isn't even something you can ping or tracert to. It's not any of the three IPs that are mine...I don't know what it is, or if I was supposed to exclude it or something. Could it be from my testing of my own links? Can someone here answer this for me? |

| It's either you testing your own links or MSN bots. Change your settings from "Show All Clicks" to "Show Real Clicks" to filter out the the duplicates.

Oh wow--yeah, I was kind of worried because I didn't think I had tested THAT much! Thanks for reassuring me!

Certainly sounds like clicks from testing. Check this website to track the IP, it will even give you a google map of where the IP address is. Look familiar? 8.6.118.75 - United States IP. Detailed location, ISP and more info. |

Thanks Grasshopper--do you think I would be putting myself at a disadvantage if I used the free version of Bevo for awhile? As opposed to continuing to run my self-hosted Tracking 202....

Bevo gives you very limited access for free and you can't get the self hosted version for free. You have to subscribe to get the hosted version and I never trust keeping my sales data on someone elses server.

If you have THAT MUCH data to worry about, then the $200 upgrade should be a drop-in-the-bucket and a "no-brainer" anyway. I've always hated how inaccurate P202 is. There is a reason for it being FREE. Bevo comes with excellent reviews. |

Someone did a case study. Bevo's free version surprisingly loads faster than a install of prosper202 on a dedicated server.

| When you click on it. I signed up for a login, then went to click on that, and no, it does not appear to be free.

Wow.. That's very misleading if it's true. It looks like it says self-hosted version is 100% FREE. ![]() Quote:

Guys, just use Prosper202. Or pay the $200/month if you can afford. I wouldn't even consider the possibility of having my campaigns stored on somebody else's database. William

| Can I ask why? I've been told that self hosting is more secure, but what bad could happen if you stored data on someone elses server?

Well as far as security goes, besides talking about backups, downtime etc, the most obvious is that whoever hosts the data could very easily steal your campaign....you spend all that time and $$$ testing and tracking, they see exactly what works.......(not that I'm sugesting for 1 minute that any of the tracking companies would actually do that ) I'm with William. No way in the world would I have my tracking data on someone else's server. |
