Hi, I created a new service some time ago: PC Alarm - PC Theft Protection which I started promoting using adwords. So far I have created 3 ads: 7 clicks 26,651 ad views (0.03% clickrate). Is this a normal click rate? seems very very low to me. |

Something I have been thinking about: Do people create seperate ads for each keyword? I have like 20 keywords which run 3 different ads atm. Daily budget: $10 Have been running for 2 weeks now, total cost: $1.50 |

Are you advertising on search? If so, yes, your CTR is incredibly low. If it's on content network it's still low, but is not terrible. If you are on search, try to improve your ads, but I think that chances are that you are also bidding on the wrong keywords, or you would get more clicks even with bad ads. So make some keyword research and make sre that you bid on the right terms. If you are on the content network, then improve your ads and try to target specific placements (use AdPlanner to find placements). William

It seems to me that your keywords are not relevant enough. Have you done keyword research? You need to put 1 keyword in 1 adgroup if your running campaigns in search. To improve your crt put your keyword in title of your ad. Adwords is all about relevance so keep that in mind. |

That way you can track better what's going on, and if you use your keywords in your ad copies you may get a higher ctr, because it will be more relevant and google will bold the text. | |

Search and content network are completely different, so create separate campaigns for them. Talking about search, here is how I usually organize my keywords: AD GROUP #1 keyword 1 "keyword 1" [keyword 1] AD 1 AD 2 AD GROUP #2 keyword 2 "keyword 2" [keyword 2] AD 3 AD 4 And so on... As you can see, I have just one keyword per ad group (3 match types) and 2 ads, which I'm always split-testing and replacing the loser. This way I can create ads for each specific keyword and get a better CTR. William

What tool did you use for keyword research?

Yes, you can create different ads for each keyword. With only 20 keywords, you can do this manually very easily. If you have thousands of keywods then I would suggest SpeedPPC where you can put each keyword in the domain, ad title, and copy, each having its own adgroup, thus making your campaign super relevant at the click of a button. But as I said, with 20 keywords, you can do this all manually! Try and bump the QS up a notch and you should be pretty good. |

Bump your bids up to $1 or more until you start to get clicks and then you can lower them later. you need to get your quality scores up first.
