I have 3 family members, extremely bright cousins of mine, that want to start working for themselves. I said I'd help them out but what do I actually teach them? I'm 16, they are from 22-26. I am successful with internet marketing, make more then the avg U.S. citizen, but what I do is entirely complicated. Most they know about the internet is facebook, I tried signing them with a cpa network and that took a while haha. |

Ok, what is it that you do to make money? What's complicated? Can it be simplified?

Start with the basics and then move into more advanced stuff gradually. If you are making money you will be able to put them in the right path every time they start doing something wrong, and it should be enough to shorten their learning curve a lot. ![]() William |

Keep in mind that some people will simply never "get it" and never make a penny online. I've tried training some friends who see me working from home and want that too. But if they don't have the motivation or can't work on their own, they'll never do it.

What if you let them cut their teeth with some of the more menial parts of your success model?

I was thinking, maybe I can teach them to start an offline business. It doesn't need to be CPA.

Like PPC Coach, I have tried teaching numerous friends and family as well. About half "get it" and half still think I must run online gambling rings or porn sites ...which I dont for the recordI would test them out, who knows, they may be the start to yoru internet empire team! Teach them the basics, get them excited, remind them you only want to work with them if they are in it for the long haul, but be sure to make them aware of the long term rewards. Then let them have the reigns to learn on their own for a bit with some motivation for you. Once they build a foundation of knowledge, then dig in deeper with them and try and make something great happen. I look for partners all the time and one of my biggest constraints in my business has been finding home-grown local talent I can comfortably expand my team with. Having the right family member to work with is golden!!! Ken

| My old neighbors used to think I was a drug dealer because I never left for work and was always home during the day and night. One of them actually told me that one day. It was an interesting conversation.

I would just keep in mind that things can get sticky once you bring in family into your business...it's very nice of you to help your cousins out but i would clarify that you're doing this so they can add value to your company, not that they will get a free ride and coast without putting any work in....if they cant absorb the information in terms of the tech side maybe they can do very basic work like speaking to your Account Managers on a daily basis, gathering info about hot new offers, collecting data regarding EPC's / conversion rates, ETC...more of a messenger which will allow you to step away from the day to day contact and work on long term projects and growing your business... Either way best of luck no matter what you decided... |

I am 48 years old. I am not yet a successful internet marketer. You are 16 years old and are a successful internet marketer. Am I too old to learn from a 16 year old? No way Jose! I would welcome the opportunity to learn from someone successful no matter how old or young. Of course, sometimes that get's a little complicated when it's a family member but . . . Just make sure they have a seeking spirit and an open mind. Good luck! |

Get them into PPV, the potential is huge and if they join a coaching site, they can learn from scratch.
