Who are the advertisers for email/zip submits and how do they do it?

Hey,
I have been promoting email/zip submits for quite some time, but recently realized that on some occassions the large companys are not paying for these submits to CPA networks, for example JetBlue is not actually making the offer that gives the customer 2 free tickets just for filling in your email address. I was just wondering if anyone here knew who the advertiser of those offers are and how they do it.

I'd say on most occassions it's not the actual companies behind the offer. I've always assumed that they were basically list builders. Obviosuly the leads are worth more than $1-$2 to them so they probably either on sell the list (many times) or sell to the list over and over just like we do.

Of course some email/zip submits require the lead to complete a bunch of offers before they can "win an iPad" (or whatever the offer is) so they make their money on the back end offers.

Just my opinion of course and I'm sure one of the network owners will know the real truth...

After supplying their email people fill out 1 or 2 forms, which can be sold for insurance companies and other companies interested in buying leads, and perform actions that involve a cost in order to qualify for the gift.

Do you know of think anyone on this forum has been a part of these that i can talk to? or are they usually bigger people with a lot of money, etc?
