Default $.10/$.20/$.30 cent ads - Why?

A couple of the networks I am suscribed to send out their daily offer updates. Alot of times these things have a number of ads from anywhere as low as $.10 per lead.

Do people actually market these? Why?

I feel like I'm missing something. I mean, why does the network even add them?

Those are generally offers for traffic coming from second or even third world countries. The payouts are so low because the merchant won't be making a great deal of money (if any) off these leads.

I mean look at it this way: it's pretty hard to sell a bottle of let's say Acai Berry in a country where the average wage is $100 per month.

Country has alot to do with it...are the offers that were blasted out in the update download offers? There are publishers doing thousands of leads daily with down-loadable offers, may not seem much on the surface but say you get $.12 per download and do 2k leads daily, that's $240 daily - Almost $1,700 weekly...nice chunk of change from an offer only paying $.10 - $.12....

While I do agree that a 0.10 payout is very slow, but honestly, I'm more worried about EPC and profit than what the payout is per offer

10c is incredibly low. However, depending on teh country where you are going to promote the offer, 40c or 50c can be a decent payout if you can do volume.

For example, here in Brazil it's much harder to sell stuff online, so CPA offers have lower payouts here. However, a coin has 2 sides. While the payouts are lower, the traffic is a lot cheaper as well, and the competition on the search engines (organic) is also much lower than in the US, UK, CA, AU or any other similar country.
